My Memories Suite Tutorial - Photo Tiling & Paper Tearing

Here's a quick page I put together with My Memories Suite Version 4 digital scrapbooking (and so much more!) software.

There are several fun digital tricks I used on this page: the banner Shape I created for use with the program, paper tearing and photo tiling. All three features are new to the version 4 software.

I wrote a couple of posts on my blog last week about creating custom Shapes:

Here is a video that gives detailed instructions for Paper Tearing.

Here is a video that gives detailed instructions for Photo Tiling.

Background paper: Background paper 3 by Snicker from the Stocking Stuffers designer kit included with the software purchase. This is the decorative red paper.

Background paper Add As Photo Object to create the Red base of page: Background paper 5 by Snicker from the Stocking Stuffers designer kit included with the software purchase. This is the textured red paper.

Gray behind the photo tiles Add As Photo object, Tear Edge feature used on the bottom edge: Background paper 4 by Snicker from the Stocking Stuffers designer kit included with the software purchase. This is the textured gray paper.
NOTE about the tearing feature: what shows in the sample screen as you are applying the tears to your project does not match what comes up on your project for some reason (at least in my program/computer it does not). Simply click it and "tear" the edge again to change it.

The photo boxes on this project are custom made by me, but there are dozens and dozens of premade templates in the program to choose from. NOTE about photo tiling/boxes: not all photos are going to work with all photo boxes tiled (grouped) together. Take into consideration the composition of the photo in relation to the boxes you want to use, you won't want faces chopped in half for example. My Photo worked well (after some tweaking, I had to crop it and save it with Photoshop Elements to make it fit properly in the boxes)

Gingham ribbons: check ribbon 1 and 3 by lddiva (not sure which kit these came from, I did a global search for Ribbon to find these; they showed up under "Bows")

Banner Shape I made paper filled with green: Background paper 7 by Snicker from the Stocking Stuffers designer kit included with the software purchase. This is the textured green paper.

Text box , white text over the green banner I made.

Imprints: I did a Global Search to find "Christmas" and chose this Imprint that was found by the search function.
