Buffalo Plaid Christmas Tree Card

I had a package of 6 really old
flat, die cut trees I totally forgot about.
I had them were stored in a weird spot,
so I hadn't come across them in a long time!
I decided that although I have plenty of
cards already made this year,
I would turn them into cards anyway
otherwise I may forget about them again ;)

They started out simpler, with no snowman
or greenery. Just the cute die cut tag and twine.
I liked them well enough that way, then decided
I'd like them better if I added something else.
I went through a few ideas before settling on
the much more time consuming snowman
and greenery spray idea.

I stamped the background with the Buffalo Plaid stamp by Stampin' Up!

The greeting, die cut tag, paper punch leaves are also from Stampin' Up!

Martha Stewart branch paper punch (pine looking shapes)
and snowman punch.

Baker's twine.

I'm thinking about adding an eyelet and twine loop at the top so
it could be hung since it is not a card that stands up. It is flat, there
is no fold/second layer to it.  Or maybe a piece of magnet glued to the
back so it can be displayed on a refrigerator?

I probably won't be posting as often now since I've made more than
enough cards.  Time to get started on scrapbooks again anyway.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for looking =)

CAS Christmas

Everything used on this fairly quick to make card
was bought from Stampin' Up! over the years.

The holly images are from a set that is at least 20 years old
called Celebrate The Season.

Christmas is a partially stamped image from
a Christmas words set that is several years old.
I used Versamark ink and green embossing powder on a strip
of shimmery paper. It is attached with a piece of chipboard
behind it for a bit of dimension.

Merry was cut with a thinlits die.

Real Red, Glorious Green and Whisper White colors.

Thanks for looking =)

Charge It Pop In Page Kit

MDD Designs at Pickleberry Pop has a lovely new digital "quick page" kit - and you can alter it!

The premade page that you can simply pop a photo into and be done also includes elements that you can add if you'd like. You can also alter the premade page as I did in my sample. I removed a couple of elements and added in the laptop image to go with the photo I used. I also flipped the template. Quick and easy !

Note: the little banner I used for my date tag is not included in the kit.

Here is the link to the Pop In kit, Charge It PLUS it is on sale for Black Friday!

A Different Kind of Thanksgiving

It was for many people this year.

I cooked and had my Mom over.

After we ate, I boxed up leftovers and

we drove them to my children's homes.

We had a short visit with each, outdoors at one

and wearing masks, socially distancing indoors

at the other. Although not the perfect holiday,

I still thought it was nice.

The skies finally clearing as we drove, after days

of being over cast and rainy, made it even better.

Remember that even during a pandemic,

there is always something to be thankful for.

This year especially, there are many PEOPLE

to be thankful for. THANK YOU to

all of the people out there fighting the pandemic,

keeping goods in our stores, teaching our children,

keeping the peace during these trying times

and even to those that are doing their part

to help prevent the spread.

The list goes on. Thank You.

The image in my post was created to share with my family online.

I used Light Up The World digi kit by MDD Designs.

70th Birthday Card - feminine

Surprise, something other than a Christmas Card!

I'm not happy with the way this one turned out.

I was in hurry to come up with something at the last second.

The basic idea is okay, could be tweaked, but the colors.....

not happy at all with them and the photo really makes them look ick.

I didn't have time to redo it, so this is what was sent.

I know, I know, we are our own worst critics!

Everything used came from Stampin'Up! at some time or other.

Thanks for looking =)

by MDD Designs and available exclusively from Pickleberry Pop.

I made my background paper.

Snowman Coaster Bridge Card

Another "bridge card" made with a coaster.

The center image panel is actually a coaster.
I found a set of two at a yard sale
a couple of years. I bought them knowing
I'd do something crafty with them,
whether it was an ornament, scrapbook page
element, whatever. In the end I made cards.

Stamp images, inks and card stocks are from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for looking =)

Christmas Tree Coaster Bridge Card

This is a sort of a "bridge card" design.

The center image panel is actually a coaster.
I found a set of two at a yard sale
a couple of years. I bought them knowing
I'd do something crafty with them,
whether it was an ornament, scrapbook page
element, whatever. In the end I made cards.

I added a few mini rhinestone embellishments.

The side panels and top sentiment are stamped with gold ink.
The stamp images are from Stampin' Up!

Patterned Pines Christmas Card

All supplies used (other than the stars)
came from Stampin' Up! over the years.

I could've made a simpler version of this card
by simply stamping the pine images directly
to the white piece of card stock.
The stamp image is of the three trees in a row,
next to each other, not overlapping.
(Patterned Pines)

I decided it needed to be a bit fancier,
so I stamped the trees in different colors ,
even stamping the trunks again in brown.
I then cut them out individually
so I could glue them overlapping each other.

I added a die cut squiggly lines element
to represent snow drifts.

I lightly sponged blue ink onto the sky.

The sentiment stamp is colored with water based
markers directly onto the rubber to create the two tone image.
It is cut into a banner then glued onto to card
with a shim of chipboard for a bit of dimension.

The star elements are unknown.
I know that they were bought at a going
out of business sale (Kmart) years ago
and sold as a Christmas item for gift packaging.

A wood grain textured background
finishes off the card front.

Starlight Christmas Card 2

First time I've used these dies to make a card!
Actually second, but first for this particular die in the set.
I bought them on clearance from Stampin' Up!
earlier this year. Unfortunately they did not
have the matching stamp set available.

The fun shaped center die cut window
was made with a die from Stampin' Up!,
Stitched Nested Labels Dies.
I used the piece that was cut out on this card.

The rubber stamp images, inks and red card stock
are also from Stampin'Up!
Priceless (swirls) and
The Greatest Part of Christmas (sentiment)

Silver card stock and shiny red patterned card stock, unknown

The ornaments embossing folder is from Cuttlebug.

Silver sequins are some old craft supply

Starlight Christmas Card 1

First time I've used these dies to make a card!
I bought them on clearance at Stampin' Up!
earlier this year. Unfortunately they did not
have the matching stamp set available.

The embossed background was made with a
folder that SU! sold several years ago.

The tiny scalloped and stitched die cut edge is made
with a die from a Valentine's set by SU! .

Glitter paper and shiny silver card stock were used for the
center star. I was going to add a rhinestone brad,
but decided against it so it would be flatter, mail friendly

Thanks for looking =)

Golden Dasher Christmas Card

I have more than enough Christmas cards
completed for this year, leftovers from years past,
but I keep making more!

I'm trying to make some flatter,
more mail friendly yet still pretty cards
to replace some of the others already completed.

We normally have a large extended family get together
for Christmas each year where I pass out around
40 cards. Due to the pandemic, we had to cancel.
Because of this, I will be mailing cards
and I don't want to spend more money for
extra postage on thicker, bumpier cards.
Many of the competed cards are thick and bumpy.

This one is pretty simple
AND has a bit of dimension!

I ran vanilla card stock through a snowflake
embossing folder, adhering it to a gold
metallic card stock base.

The deer and sentiment are heat embossed gold
on vanilla card stock.

The sentiment is mounted on a strip of chipboard
to give it a bit of dimension, but not as thick as pop dots.

Everything used was from Stampin' Up!,
but are all retired now.

Thanks for looking =)

Christmas Candles Card

This is the first time I've used this stamp
and it was a bit tricky getting it lined up.
I also had problems getting it to stamp well.
I'm not sure if it was my work surface or
the photopolymer stamps, but I do know
that it was aggravating. Maybe I needed
something under the paper, on top of my desk.
It looks really neat when it works though!

All supplies used were from Stampin' Up!,
many of which are now retired.
(Merry Patterns stamp set)

'Tis The Season Card

The final card made with this patterned paper.

This is the first time I've used this stamp
and it was a bit tricky getting it lined up.
It looks really neat when it works !

Rubber stamp images (Merry Patterns)
and dies were from Stampin' Up!

Polka dot grosgrain ribbon, unknown

Shimmery Peppermint Snowflake Card

I may as well make another card (or two!)
with more of that 12 x 12 candy striped paper ;)

The red piece was cut from another card
(I made a window) that I'll share later.

The snowflake embossed background was
something I had already done and not used.

There is shimmer paper on this card
under the striped paper and for the snowflake.
It's difficult to see in the photo.
Same with the glittery embossed sentiment.
There is a also a circle punched from
glitter card stock for the center of the snowflake.
I wanted to keep it flat, mail friendly,
so I didn't use anything bumpy in the center
such as a large rhinestone or brad.

Other than the patterned paper,
everything else came from Stampin' Uo!,
but most are now retired.

Thanks for looking =)

Peppermint Wishes Christmas Card

I used another piece from the 12 x 12
candy cane striped patterned paper
that I used on a previous card
to make this clean and simple card.

The sentiment (Joy To The World set by Stampin' Up!)
was heat embossed red
then die cut out. I cut a scrap piece of
chipboard to fit behind and mounted
it to the card front for a bit of dimension.

I die cut large scallop borders
from a scrap of silver card stock
that was an envelope to a wedding
invitation I received years ago.

The sequins are some really old leftovers
from a craft project decades ago.
Isn't it funny how trends change?
I don't see sequins used on many
crafts now, but have seen them
as embellishments on paper crafts.

The rubber stamp image and
dies came from Stampin' Up!
and are no longer available.

Thanks for looking =)

Deck The Halls Christmas Card

This card was inspired by a sample in the newest
holiday catalog from Stampin' Up!
I used some of my old stamps to
make my own version of the card.

Holly images colored directly to rubber with water based markers
then water colored in with inks from my ink pads.

A few gold ink splatters stamped around the holly

Yet Another Dog Sympathy Card

I made this card and mailed it out in late October.
I now know that it was received, so I'm sharing.

I no sooner got the last dog sympathy card made
and sent off when I found out another friend
lost her dog. What a year.

All supplies used came from Stampin' Up!,
most are now retired.

Bow Wow, Bella and Friends
& So Sorry stamp sets

 The dog was water colored
and hand cut out then
attached with dimensionals.

White heat embossed words on
black card stock and mounted
onto a scrap of chipboard for dimension.
Chipboard is not as thick as foam dimensionals
(also known as pop dots), so it gives it just
enough height, but not as much as the dog.

Thanks for looking.

Thankful Die Cuts Card

LOTS of die cuts were layered onto a

Naturals Ivory card stock panel for this card.

The images were stamped with coordinating inks
onto card stocks before being die cut out.

I cut "thankful" twice and glued them
together to make it a bit thicker.

Shiny gold die cut edge under the
main panel, then all attached to a textured
chocolate brown card base.

All items used were from Stampin' Up!
and most are no longer available.

Embellished Leaves Thanksgiving Card

This one started out a bit simpler
and flatter so it would be easy to mail.
Then it evolved to this.
I like the extras that I added,
even if it seems a bit overdone
and is bulkier ;)

Vanilla card stock run through a trees embossing folder

Paper punched leaves - from a paint sample card!

Gold heat embossed sentiment
(Holiday Best by Stampin' Up!)and die cut.
I decided to pop it up with dimensionals.

I thought it needed a little something extra, so I added
thin gold thread (embroidery type floss thread, unraveled)
and gold craft sequin accents on the leaves.

Thanks for looking =)

Metallic and Smudges Thanksgiving Card

Homemade background paper on this
fairly simple card.
I smoooshed oxide inks onto an old
plastic scrapbook page sleeve
then smashed the vanilla cardstock
on top. It was an experiment.

I added a few "splatters" of copper metallic ink
by stamping with an Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp.

Gold heat embossed sentiment.

Die cut pieces from shimmery gold
and copper cardstocks.

That's all for this card!

Thanks for looking =)
