Stamped Fabric Snowman Multi Use Embellishment

This sweet little fabric scrap snowman was a cinch to make ;)
He can be a pin, a magnet, an ornament, a scrapbook page embellishment,
a gift package tie on, etc and so on !

I used scraps of tea stained "muslin" with a piece of cotton batting
sandwiched between for his head. I hand stitched the three pieces together,
leaving the edge of each layer raw and exposed.

The face was stamped with a permanent brown ink.
I lightly tapped ink onto his cheeks with my finger tip
and used a blender pen with chalk to color in his nose.

A little scrap of plaid cotton fabric was torn then hot glued into place
to create his scarf. You could certainly add more embellishments to him !

Thanks for looking =)

Pretty Poinsettia Card

Today's share is a set of pretty poinsettia cards.
All supplies used were from Stampin' Up!
with the exception of the yellow rhinestones.

The die cut white portion is actually the back of a precut card
that Stampin' Up! sold as part of a kit years ago.
They had an interesting shape to them.
I cut the fronts from the backs on some of them
then glued them back on to a rectangular card base.
I liked this better because the recipient could stand the card up
if they wanted to display it.
See one of the altered cards here

Moving on......

The die cut piece was run through a script embossing folder.
It was then adhered to Cherry Cobbler Coredinations textured card stock.

The rubber stamps are oldies,
Pretty Poinsettia (1999) and Holiday Greetings  .

The poinsettia image was stamped twice
in two shades of red then trimmed out.
I cut the bottom image apart to make it slightly larger than the top
so it would show a bit better.
The top image is attached with a dimensional.
The leaves are all stamped individually in two shades of green
and cut out, too, then glued into place under the red flowers.

I cut a piece of white card stock then stamped the flowers again
as well as a simple greeting on it. Glued it inside the card.

Organdy ribbon and thin gold cord tied into a bow finish it off.

Thanks for looking and
Happy Holidays !

Sweet Gingerbread Christmas Card

Isn't this a sweet Christmas card and sentiment?
I'm pretty happy with the way this one turned out, too,
even though I got a bit carried away sanding the paper ;)

I used a Candy Cane embossing folder (cuttlebug)
on white core red card stock then sanded it.
I would have liked to back it with a fine scalloped edge
white rectangle before adhering it to the brown sugar card base,
but I don't have any dies or punches to accomplish the look I envisioned.

The rubber stamp images are oldies from Stampin' Up!
Gingerbread House is 18 years old, the sentiment set is even older
(I don't recall the name, sorry).

The edges of the sentiment panel has caramel ink lightly sponged on it.
It is backed with a piece of textured espresso card stock punched
with a  scallop edge border punch.

I heat embossed white onto Baked Brown Sugar card stock
for the gingerbread boy. A tiny bit of water color accents.

The peppermint was simply stamped with black ink
onto white card stock then colored with a marker.
It is attached with a dimensional/ pop dot.

A paper punched button and twine finish it off.

Thanks for looking

Spirit of the Season Card

While sorting through some old scraps that were bought in a grab bag at a yard sale,
I came across this green card base that had a sentiment stamped on it.
I just happen to have a stamp set that would go pretty well with the sentiment,
so it became a quick Christmas card.

The nativity image was stamped onto water color paper
then water colored in with ink from my ink pads.
It is from an old stamp set by Stampin' Up!

The star was made with a Folk Art star paper punch,
slightly curved, inked along the edges then attached with a pop dot.

Thank you for looking

Sanded Embossed Trees Christmas Card

I'm sharing another pretty simple Christmas card today.

The trees embossed background was made with a folder by Cuttlebug.
I ran white core dark green textured card stock through it.
It was then lightly sanded with fine grit sand paper.

The sentiment was hand colored directly on the rubber
with two colors of water based markers
then stamped on white card stock and die cut.
The stamp and die were from Stampin' Up!

Red eyelets and bakers twine finish it off.

Thanks for looking =)

Old photo frame cards from a kit I bought years ago

Quilted Christmas Tree card

These cards were a bit time consuming (aren't most hand made cards though ?).

I stamped the stitched tree image (Stampin' Up!) onto three different patterned papers
from an old Die Cuts With A View Christmas paper stack.

I carefully cut each section apart along the stitched lines.

I then puzzle pieced them back together using three papers per tree.

They were then glued to a die cut circle. The stitching on the circles was created by tracing a circle die with a fine tip marker. This is then glued to a dark brown circle.

The background is created by piecing together three pieces of the same patterned papers I used for the trees. I used a stitching rubber stamp and black ink to make the zig zags along each panel.

I thought about adding a tag with a sentiment, too, but decided against.

Thanks for looking =)

Buttons and Banners Christmas Cards

I have been having fun jazzing up these plain,
premade cards bases bought on clearance some time ago !

There were green shimmery designs on them.

I added hand cut banners, paper punched buttons and twine.
The sentiment was stamped with an old image from Stampin' Up!

Two versions of a fairly quick to make card.

Thanks for looking =)

Glitter Painted Foam Snowflakes Card

Isn't this a fun , non traditional colors, simple card ?

It was also an experiment:
could I paint fun foam die cut snowflakes with glitter nail polish ?

The answer as you can see is YES !
I was happy to see that the foam didn't disintegrate
or anything from the nail polish.
It also dried just fine on the foam.
I'll definitely do this again to make glittered
snowflakes, it may be a smellier process
(I can't stand the smell of nail polish)
but it has almost no mess.

The patterned paper was from an old Die Cuts With A View
 Christmas paper stack.

The printed ribbon was bought on clearance at Target
as part of a set several years ago.

Thanks for looking =)

Santa Face Easel Card

This card was fun to make
and I love how it turned out!
Based off of my Santa Face Cuttlebug Card,
only round and turned into an easel card.

I started with a 5 1/2" circle of white card stock.

I  hand drew the beard shape along the bottom portion
then cut it out with scissors.

I ran it through the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder.
The hand drawn mustache and shortened Word Window punch
eyebrows were also embossed with this folder.

I traced the large white head piece onto
a piece of folded white card stock.
It was then cut out to make the card base.

The face, nose and lips are Blush Blossom card stock
with actual blush rubbed on in places.
The mustache is glued just in the center.
The nose is adhered with a pop dot.

The eyes are 3/8" circle punches with white details
added from a Signo gel pen.

The  hat is cut with a large circle die
from textured red card stock
and the brim is hand cut from white.

Assorted paper punches were used to create
the embellishments on the hat.
There is also a touch of red glitter.
There may even be a stray piece of cat hair
on it somewhere since
my cat was supervising me!

Happy Little Snowman Card

Cute little snowman image
(oldie from Stampin' Up!)
colored with markers.

The glittery snow is nail polish !
Yes, it even works on fun foam (snowflake).

It's layered onto embossed card stocks,
attached with pop dots for dimension.

Bakers twine accent.

The inside sentiment is
"Hope your Christmas is snow much fun"

Thanks for looking =)

Gift Giving Snowmen Christmas Card

Reusing an old gift card holder I made years ago.
I cut the front off then stamped snowmen on it.
I used white acrylic craft paint to make them white
on the Almost Amethyst card stock.
Details were added with markers.

Glitter along the torn edge of white card stock
for a fun detail on the "snow covered"ground.

The stamped piece is mounted onto shimmery paper
then attached to the amethyst and white the striped card base,

Chalkboard Greeting Christmas Card

Another pretty simple Christmas card.

The image was stamped with white craft ink
onto black card stock. The edge of the ink pad
was then swiped along the edges.
It is layered onto red card stock and a piece
of white card stock than has been embossed.
This is attached with pop dots over bakers twine
that has been wrapped around the decorative paper panel.

Sew Much Fun Stitched Christmas Cards

Using up the last of the blank premade cards with real stitching that I bought on clearance !
The cards were stitched on the front and back, made from hand made paper (so the packaging said).
They included simple white paper liners and silver envelopes.

This particular set has a computer generated sentiment that I created and printed out.

The naturals card stock sentiment tag is stitched using a sewing machine to patterned paper
that reminded me of a quilt (it's an old pattern from Die Cuts With A View).

The tag is adhered to the card front then embellished with a paper punched button and twine.

Thanks for looking =)

Merry Die Cut Christmas Cards

Today I'm sharing another set of cards I made with a set of
blank premade, handmade paper cards I bought on clearance
several years ago. I only made two of these,
the were a bit tricky for me to get the die cut
stuck down neatly ;)

I made these cards months ago,
but never shared them.

The note cards have a shimmery green
"heat embossed"design on them.

I die cut the word Merry then carefully glued it in place.

The word Christmas was stamped and heat embossed white.

The holly leaves were heat embossed green onto
green card stock then cut out with scissors.

The berries are red glitter faux brads.
made by covering 1/4"paper punched circles
with red glitter glue.
The strip is also covered with red glitter glue.
