The COVID 19 vaccines are giving me hope
 that this will be the last big holiday
I celebrate without all of my loved ones.

Easter Basket Card

This card was created with the final pre-cut card "kit"

I made for a class I taught many years ago.

I added some extras to it, not on the original project:

die cut edge,

pressure embossed background and ribbon trim.

The image is stamped and water colored

on a stitched edge die cut piece. 

I had several of these leftover, cutting more

than the number of people that showed for the class.

I have made other cards with the same kit,

but with different images and themes.

I think this was the original card design,

inspired by a sample I saw somewhere

Everything used on these cards,

other than the ribbon,

came from Stampin' Up! over the years.

Bunnies and Tulips Cards

 

A couple of cheery cards for sending Easter wishes.

I water colored the image of the bunnies

 (a really old set from Stampin' Up! , Friends).

Terrific Tulips (also quite old) was used along with a

Stampin' Around wheel (stitched) for the purple card.

Embossing folder detail on the pink card. 

Both cards are finished off with a bit of ribbon.

Dry Embossed Flowers Easel Card

While reorganizing some things in my craft room,

I came across my neglected brass templates.

I haven't done dry embossed design cards in ages

and decided to make a couple of Easter cards with some.

The templates I used came from Lasting Impressions.

I embossed white core card stock

then lightly sanded the raised areas

 to reveal some of the white. 

The easel card base was cut with an old die by Sizzix,

Royal Stand Ups.

I used Pink Passion card stock from Stampin' Up!

for the base and some purple plaid patterned paper 

by Die Cuts With A View.

Happy Easter, Happy Spring was created by stamping

three separate word images from Stampin' Up!

Even using clear stamps I still can't line things up

really well. This was my third attempt!

I used a pen to add a comma.

There is a dimensional underneath the flower

on the base to help hold the front up in place.

I made a second card with sanded dry embossing

that I'll share soon.

Mother Nature played a bit of a trick on us for

April Fool's Day:

temperatures fell into the upper 20's overnight!

This is the second flip card I made for Easter this year. 

Flip card base die was from Sizzix.

The images on this card and the other die cut

shapes were from Stampin' Up!

as were the inks and papers.

Easter Flip Card 1

This is a flip card, one of two I made

for Easter this year. 

The second will be shared tomorrow.

It was easy to make using a die from Sizzix,

but you can make your own with some 

creative die cutting.

There are many tutorials online that show how.

The image is an oldie from DOTS.

It was water colored with inks from my ink pads

using an aquapainter brush.

The purple papers are from Lasting Impressions,

bought long ago. The yellow layer is

Barely Banana from Stampin' Up!

CAS Easter Card

Today I'm sharing one of the many Easter cards I made this year.

I'll be sharing one every day this week.

This particular card uses a small Easter Egg image that I colored 
with markers. The image is an oldie from Stampin' Up!,  Tag Time set.

I stamped several of these images, trying to get the perfect impression for another card I was making. I used one of the practice pieces on this card.

The embossing folder on the background is from Cuttlebug.

The gingham ribbon is unknown, it's quite old and the roll is not marked with a brand name.

Lovely Lilac, Pixie Pink and I believe Pool Party were the colors from SU! that I used.

Easter Blessings - daffodils

Like so many other families around the world, 

we won't be gathering for Easter this year
due to the COVID 19 outbreak.
Our state is under a Stay At Home order
and face masks are recommended
 for the general public when out and about.
Schools, businesses, parks and such
remain closed through the end of the
month at the earliest, but I believe
it will be extended in our hard hit state.

It's just another month until 

Mother's Day, maybe things

will be getting back to normal

(well, a new normal)

so we can gather then.
Getting back to normal will require
more people to take this seriously
and social distance, etc. 
to stop the spread.

Oval Dies Bunny Card

I used various dies and paper punches

to make this bunny Easter card.

All card stocks, inks, the rubber stamp image

and punches were from Stampin' Up!

Easter Blessings - tulips

I used my old DD Tulips

and Abundant Joy stamp sets

from Stampin' Up! to create this card.

 A bit of mulberry paper and 

an old eyelet were used to 

accent the banner.

The newest item I used on this card

was the gingham embossing folder. 

Lovely Lilac and Gumball Green inks.

Glittery Jelly Beans Card

I drug out my old, really old, Stampin' Glitter stack

to make the jelly beans on this card.

The stamps are quite old as well.

The beans were stamped, cut out and adhered individually.

I'm not very happy with the way they turned out,

they aren't very glittery and colors are lighter than I expected.

I might have over heated the Heat and Stick/Glitter combo.

Tin Tile Rabbit Card

I love this Tin Tile embossing folder from Stampin' Up!
and am pretty happy with the way this card turned out.

I had a few ideas of what I want to make with it when I ordered it,
I knew the first project would be this Easter card.

Adding the "rust" to the "tin" was an experiment.

I've used the cinnamon faux rust technique on black

card stock along with paints to create faux rusty gears. 

It worked great, so I thought I've give it a go

on silver metallic card stock.

I distressed the edges of the Barely Banana card stock

(after running it through the Subtle embossing folder)

then added real stitching. 

The flowers are some tiny paper flowers by 

Prima that my Mom found at a yard sale.
They are in a neat glass bottle that I'll repurpose
into something else when it is empty, one day.

The pink flower has a yellow rhinestone center
glued in place.

I added paper punched leafy branches 

(Martha Stewart) and hand cut wee little leaves.

Pink and white gingham ribbon has been in my

stash for quite some time; I still adore gingham ribbon.

The rabbit (hand cut from a free SVG file
that I printed out) is attached with dimensionals.
The file was resized, changed to white with a "stroke" added
around the edge to create an outline to print out and cut.

Easel card

The scallop circle base is an old precut card from

Stampin' Up! that came with brown envelopes.

I cut my own circular folding card to attach

behind the Baja Breeze scallop circle.
Pink Pirouette is layered between the blue and yellow.

It folds flat for mailing,
but will require extra postage since it is bumpy
and in a large square envelope.

I made my own word art on the computer,
printed it out onto white card stock.
It is layered over Baja Breeze that I
paper punched a scalloped edge on.
I cut chipboard to fit under the word strip
to add some height for the bottom of the card
to catch to stand up.
I also added another strip of the Tin Tile embossed
silver metallic card stock to the bottom.

I meant to stamp some small flowers and leaves
on the base before attaching the word strip.
 I thought they'd look nice filling in the white space
on either side of the round card when it was standing.
Oh well........

Bunny Treat Bag - fabric

This year is hopping right along, isn't it ?

Today I'm sharing this fun little treat bag

as my design team project for the

April Anything Goes Challenge at

Love To Craft.

We'd love to see what crafty things you 

made this month (so long as it is family friendly).

This sweet little treat bag
was made with a pattern I bought years ago.
I finally got around to sewing one !
More details below.

 Two squares of fabric, casing at the top

for ribbon to run through.

Bunny shape traced then stitched on 

two layers of white fabric. 

Leave the bottom of the arms open for turning out.

That was the most difficult part I believe, 

turning that little rabbit head (ears!) inside out.

Stitch a circle over a piece of clear plastic

then carefully trim away the fabric

to create a window.

After stitching down the sides of the squares

(starting an inch or so below the top edge

to allow room for the rabbits arms)

gather the bottom edges of the squares

to create the base.

I hot glued on a circle of card stock

to make sure the gathers stayed in place.

Pull the ribbon through the casing at the top.

Inside the bag , 

notice the gaps on the sides for the arms.

Rabbit head is lightly stuffed with polyfil

then the bottom is hand stitched closed.

The face made with a permanent marker and blush.

Goodies in the bag.

I'd suggest using wrapped candies

and if not, put unwrapped candies

inside of a clear baggie before 

inserting it into the fabric treat bag.

Arms inserted through the gaps on the side.

Pull the ribbon  and tie.

This isn't a sturdy, toy type of item.

It's really just for the cute factor 

when giving a small gift.

Easter Eggs Punch Art Card

Today I am sharing my final Easter card -

and wishing you the blessings of Spring on this Easter morn !

This was a fun card, although a bit time consuming.

Each easter egg was punched from different colored card stock , 

heat embossed white with a letter, lightly water colored along one edge, 

had a small detail made with a white Signo gel pen along the top,

carefully curved for dimension then adhered over a pop dot.

Happy is die cut from silver metallic card stock.

The top panel was paper pierced around the edge.

All supplies used were from Stampin' Up!

Floral Easter Egg Card

The "egg" for this card was the oval cut out portion

from another card I made years ago and have held onto

(yes, I have a bit of a problem with saving things for "one day").

I slightly curved the oval, put pop dots underneath the center portion

then glued along the edges to try to give it a bit of dimension.

The card front was embossed with a frame folder.

I then added paper punched leaves, Prima flowers,

yellow rhinestones and an organdy ribbon bow.

A tiny word window punched and stamped tag was tucked underneath.

Cottontail Rabbit Easter Cards

Simple enough Easter cards created by stamping the rabbit images on 

patterned paper then cutting them out.

I added mini pom pom tails for an extra dose of cuteness! 

Stamp images, patterened paper and ribbon 

are oldies from Stampin' Up!

Rustic Easter Card

Today I'm sharing yet another card with the chocolate bunny image !

I think I mentioned that I was inspired by that image in the sale ad

and spent most of the day Sunday stamping ;) 

I have a few more cards to share this week,

no chocolate bunnies on them, though.

I went a littel wild creating the background on this card

using several stamp sets, colors and even smearing ink 

pads directly across the card stock.

It is inspired by the watercolor florals over wood panel

look on digital scrapbook papers and home decor

items I am seeing a lot of right now.

The bunny was heat embossed on the kraft tag.

Easter egg eyelet, small stamped sentiment tag and twine finish it off.
