25th Birthday Step Card

I'm not overly thrilled with the way this card turned out,
I was trying to do something different.

The words stamp image and card stocks came from Stampin' Up!.

The balloon image and die were from Technique Tuesday,

I used numerous die sets, most were from Sizzix.

I didn't want to make a red/black/white/gray card
or one that was automotive themed for the recipient because
I've been making those types of cards for him for years.
I also wanted something different since it was a
25th birthday. I haven't signed it yet, I might make another
one to give him since this one is "eh"to me.

Thanks for looking =)

Face Mask Wearing Bunnies Card

Wishing You All The Wonderful Gifts Of Spring -
and To Stay Safe and Healthy!

I just had to make a card relevant to the times ;)

The bunnies image is an oldie from Stampin' Up!
as is the embossing folder.

I water colored it with inks from classic ink pads
and an aqua painter.

I cut wee paper masks from printer paper.

The ribbon is unknown.

I think I should have doodled a black line
around the image panel then layered it onto
green or pink card stock instead of the black.

I know it seems to be getting more difficult to
remain at home (it's been a month here),
but we must continue.
We are all in this fight together so that we can
be with family and friends again.
Hang in there.

Once again, a big THANK YOU
to all of the healthcare workers
fighting to help all that are ill
and to the scientists searching for a cure.
Also to the many and various
"essential workers" that keep our country
running and stocked.
Stay safe and be well.

One final note,
this will be the last post from me for a while.
It's the last of my cards I made and posts I scheduled
before injuring myself a couple of weeks ago.
I'm unable to stand or walk much
which is keeping me from crafting,
doing much of anything really.
Lots of couch time to keep the injured foot elevated.
 I am sooooooo bored -
and looking forward to be able to move about again.

Take care

Easter Blessings - daffodils

Like so many other families around the world,
we won't be gathering for Easter this year
due to the COVID 19 outbreak.
Our state is under a Stay At Home order
and face masks are recommended
for the general public when out and about.
Schools, businesses, parks and such
remain closed through the end of the
month at the earliest, but I believe
it will be extended in our hard hit state.

It's just another month until
Mother's Day, maybe things
will be getting back to normal
(well, a new normal)
so we can gather then.
Getting back to normal will require
more people to take this seriously
and social distance, etc.
to stop the spread.

THANK YOU
to all of the healthcare workers,
first responders and other
essential workers
that are keeping us safe,
items in our stores,
mail delivered
and the like!!!!!

Stay safe and healthy, friends ❤
Happy Easter !

All supplies used
(except the oval die from Spellbinders)

Easter Blessings - tulips

I used my old DD Tulips
and Abundant Joy stamp sets
from Stampin' Up! to create this card.

A bit of mulberry paper and
an old eyelet were used to
accent the banner.

The newest item I used on this card
was the gingham embossing folder.

Lovely Lilac and Gumball Green inks.

Thanks for looiing =)

Shiplap Hello Card

I'm quite happy with the way this card turned out!
Even the imperfectly heat embossed greeting
is just fine with me since it is a somewhat
rustic feeling card design anyway.

All supplies used were from Stampin' Up!,
many of which are no longer available.

Sign Of The Times

Face Masks

After going back and forth as to if I should make
simple fabric face masks,
I decided to go ahead and do it early this week.
How timely since now they say we should wear them....
I had just enough elastic left over from a long ago
project to make 8 of them. I have plenty of
cotton fabric to make more, just no elastic
and that is hard to come by right now
(like toilet paper, hand sanitizer, etc)

I have been reading for weeks now that they
didn't really work and only sick people should be wearing them.
It always seemed to me that even the well should wear them,
no matter how simple they were, something has to be
better than nothing.

The original plan was to donate them to a local
organization that was in need,
but as I was making them I thought
maybe I should keep them for my
immediate family instead.
The cases are jumping where we live.
There are even cases in the surrounding
more rural counties, so scary!

I expect the governor to order everyone
to wear one at some point.
We've been on a state wide
Stay At Home order since Mid March
and most businesses were
ordered closed at the same time.
Schools were already closed.

Below is a link to the information I used.
I really like the database they set up
so you can find organizations that are
in actual need of fabric face masks
if you want to make and donate some.
This is helpful in getting them to the
places that can really use them.

The web site below has information about why
we should all be wearing masks and
has a couple of ideas of how to make simple ones,
no sewing required

THANK YOU
to the healthcare workers,
first responders
and all of the other essential workers
that are working to keep our country going,
all of us safe.

Stay safe and healthy everyone!

The governor of our state has extended the Stay At Home Order through the end of April. I expected as much. I know it is difficult for so many people, but it needs to be done to hopefully help slow the spread of this awful virus.  It's scary. Things will never be the same....
Stay safe and healthy, friends.
