Happy Thanksgiving

Yum, home made pies !
Apple crumble pie and apple pie -
with a "turkey" cut in the top crust =)
They aren't the prettiest pies, but they sure tasted good.
Nothing fancy,  old Betty Crocker recipes .

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving day !

Assorted Thank You Cards

I made majority of the cards I am sending to Operation Write Home blank cards so they can be used for almost anything. However, some were made with sentiments on them. These are a few of the Thank You cards I made to send.

All stamp images are from Stampin' Up!, most of which are no longer available.

Totally inspired by a pumpkin decorating project I saw in a magazine

I added a black hand drawn line around the edge of the white card stock after I took the photo.
It looks much beeter (of course I didn't get a photograph)

oops - forgot to have "Thank You" stamped on the tag before I took the photo

Thanks for looking =)

I Miss You - assorted cards

A few "missing you" cards created with leftover scraps.
It's been good to finally put some of these scraps to use -
and for a good cause.
All of these cards are going to Operation Write Home.

Thanks for looking =)

Thinking Of You - assorted cards pt 2

Still using up bits and pieces that have been saved.....................
All cards are being ent to Operation Write Home.

Button Bear was my very first stamp set purchase from Stampin' Up! -
in the year 2000. I've had this image that long; it was given to me unfinished.
It was an uncolored bear with flower basket that had flocking on the paws, the row of uncolored bumblebees  along the top with Dazzling Diamonds wings, the checkerboard at the bottom.
I colored the images and added "Thinking of You", trimmed off the jagged edges that had been cut with edging scissors then mounted it to the checkered card stock.

Thanks for looking =)

Santa Face Card in My Digital Studio

~Taking a break from making/posting cards to send into Operation Write Home~

In 2008 I created this Santa Face card using paper crafting supplies

I shared it at before I made a blog

I also shared it at Stampin' Connection.

I've since seen many versions posted to the internet
and appreciate the recognition that some have given my project as the inspiration!
Now I am taking inspiration from some that I have seen to add the eyebrows and holly sprig to his hat on this digital version. I used the My Digital Studio program from Stampin' Up!

Edited 2/5/2018
It was just brought to my attention that someone
has been selling my exact image on etsy.
I've reduced the image size and added a
better watermark (I hope!).

The swirly paper I created by using the swirl stitching stamp from the My Sweet Pea digital download.
I reduced the size of the image, changed the color to Very Vanilla, used a black drop shadow set at 65% opacity and 3 blur. I then copied and rotated each swirl to cover the Whisper White background paper. I think I should have maybe made the swirls different sizes...

Once I had a custom swirly background paper made, I saved the image as a jpg file. I then brought that file back into the My Digital Studio software program folder:  Components, Backgrounds, Designer Papers, Custom (folder I created to add my custom made backgrounds and photos to).
By doing this, I was able to easily use the same paper to fill the Two Step Bird punch wing and Word Window punch (reduced in size) that I used for his moustache and eyebrows.

His hat is a custom sized square punch filled with Real Red stripe designer paper.
The hat brim is an oval punch filled with Whisper White, drop shadow added to the top.
His face is an oval filled with Textured Pink Pirouette and added the drop shadow to the top.
Cheeks and eyes were created with various size circle punches.
The nose is an oval punch filled with tTxtured Pretty In Pink.
The holly leaves are an embellishment from the Christmas Jingle designer kit. I covered up the holly berries with white circle punches then added a Real Red corduroy button over them for the holly berry. This could easily become a hybrid project by adding a real button and punched nose on dimensionals !

Thanks for looking  =)

Now it is back to sorting and packing my box of cards for Operation Write Home. It sure feels like I've made many more these past 6 weeks or so than I see laid out here (they are in stacks, not sure of the exact count).

Altered Notecards

These were a set of premade note cards I bought at a local discount store some time ago.
The card stock is textured.
They open off to the side, under the embossed flap.
They were plain, no designs other than the embossing so I added
stamped and colored images to the fronts.

All cards are being sent to Operation Write Home.

Thanks for looking =)

Assorted Love Cards Pt 2

All cards are being sent to Operation Write Home.

One of the first rubber stamps I ever bought over 20 years ago before I ever heard of rubber stamp art.
I just thought the bears were adorable.
Sadly it hasn't been used in ages and when I stamped with it, the image wasn't as good as it should be due to the fact that some of the rubber has hardened. Nooooooo!

Too cute - and fun to water color.
I could have made a dozen of these cards.....
maybe I still will !

I really don't like the tag on this - I think I will redo it

Two really old leftover swaps I came across and made into a cards.
The card below needs ribbon or something added to it still

Thanks for looking =)
