642

Six hundred and forty two?

That is how many photos I had printed
and need to get into albums !!! 642!

Obviously I haven't printed photos for quite some time ;)
I also went a bit overboard documenting the historic flooding
we experienced last year.

Needless to say, I will be a bit busy working on this project
for a while. I also still need to finish older photo albums
as well as scrap road trips!

I may as well spend leap day getting started on this project :)
First things first, writing the dates on the backs of all of these
since Walgreen's doesn't print anything on the backs now.
Ack!
Enjoy your bonus day this year!

The year is March-ing right along, isn't ?

Framed Sympathy Card

Images, card stock, inks, embossing folders
and dies are all from Stampin' Up!

This card was inspired by a sample I came across
a while back and kept in the back of my mind.
Sorry, I do not know by who or where I saw it.
I do know that it did not use Stampin' Up! images
and had several fancier die cut details.
I knew I could make a similar card with the basic layout
and the supplies I have.

I of course had to make this project more difficult
for myself by cutting apart the frame then
reassembling it. I wanted the wood grain to
look like it would on a real frame. Had I left it
in one piece in the embossing folder, there would
have been short sections of plank on each side.
So I cut it apart at the corners diagonally then
placed the pieces vertically in the embossing folder
so they would each have wood grain running the
length of the piece. I reassembled them
by taping them together on the backside
then mounting it to a piece of fun foam I
cut into a frame to pop it up from the card base.

Coral Blossoms Thanks Card

image, card stocks, inks, embossing folder and "hardware" from Stampin' Up!

The stamped top portion was actually a small card from long, long ago
that I never used. I decided to add it to an embossed leaves background.

Butterfly Die Cuts Card

I saw this basic idea some time ago
and finally got around to making a similar version.
Mine isn't nearly as cute as I recall the original being.

I ended up with three cards since I cut the bottom butterflies
layer from three different colors of card stock.

It was tricky, but I do like the results.

Card Class Projects

I made these four cards at a "class" recently.
They are all Stampin' Up! supplies and images.

I don't know if the cards were designed by the demonstrator
or if she copied them from ideas seen elsewhere.

I shouldn't have adhered the banner to the birthday card
so I could have dressed it up somehow at home.
It looks a bit plain.  Oh well.

This was the first time I've ever used a
Stampin' Blends/alcohol type marker.
Not a fan. I'm sure it takes some practice
to be good at using them. but I really
don't care for the odor. I'm sensitive
to that sort of thing as it is
(I don't wear perfumes, etc because of that).

The bottom two were supposed to have a greeting
stamped on the front. I didn't care for the
font or placement on the greenery card .
It was supposed to be to the right of the image,
I'd rather keep it blank to use for whatever.

The poppy card was the same,
I didn't want the tiny saying on it.
It looked odd to me with size
and placement, plus I'd rather keep it blank
to use for whatever I wanted.

I will say that wow,
their new style of ink pads
really ink up their photopolymer stamps well!
Too well actually, we all got very inky fingers.

I use the old linen topped style ink pads still
and mostly red rubber on wood mount stamps.

Quick Cards Embossed Bkgrnds

Various "simple" cards I whipped up
to give my sister along with a stack
of embossed background pieces.
She hasn't seen the new style 3D folders
so I thought she'd appreciate some blanks
to play around with - when she finds time.

Everything used on these cards
(except the white core card stock)
came from Stampin' Up!

Friends Card

Simple card made with a Brusho water colored background piece
I made when I was playing around with them for the first time last summer.

I mounted it to textured black card stock then added a simple heat embossed
word onto a black hand cut banner attached with a red brad.

The image is an oldie from Stampin' Up!
I'd guess 20 years old.
It's from the stamp set Smitten.

Thanks for looking =)

Meant To Be Card

Shimmery card stocks, silver embossing powder
and die cuts plus a neat glittered button
topped with silver organdy ribbon made for a pretty card.

Die cuts, stamp images, embossing folder,
inks and card stocks were all from Stampin' Up!

There is no layering heart die in the set to go behind
that fancy die cut heart. It was trial and error to cut
out my own heart to fit behind it.
Too bad I didn't think to trace it for future reference
before I glued it in place, doh!

Button and organdy ribbon, unknown

Bloomin' Hearts Valentine - rustic

This is one of my favorite of all the Valentine's I made this year.
It wasn't too difficult, either.

I had been putting off buying the wood plank embossing folder,
telling myself I already had a wood grain background stamp.
I'm glad I bought it and I've been using it quite a bit.

Supplies from Stampin' Up!:
Bloomin' Hearts thinlits die
Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp
Wood plank embossing folder
card stocks
white embossing powder and Versamark ink

Misc supplies:
rhinestones
baker's twine

Two Hearts Valentine

I tried stamping inside the hearts onto
the background kraft paper,
but it wasn't lined up well and looked a bit busy, too.
So I left them plain, empty.
The tags and ribbons help fill it.

Heart die cuts and stamp image from Stampin' Up!
Mini tags, unknown
Ribbons from my craft supplies, Offray
Kraft, Vanilla, textured black card stocks
Stitched rectangle die, Stamps of Life

You and Me card - red

A fun hodge podge of some leftover bits were used to create this card.

The large red heart was one of my heat embossing fails,
so I flipped it over and pressure embossed it with a large
polka dot embossing folder.
The heart die cut and embossing folder were from Stampin' Up!

The wee little red heart tag was an extra piece I decided
not to use on another project.
I do not know the manufacturer of it.

The card base with the three strips of washi tape has been
sitting in my "to do something with someday" drawer for a long time.
Washi tape was found at Big Lots in the hardware department (!)
man years ago. I do not know the manufacturer.

Rubber stamp image from Stampin' Up!,
Perfect Pennants with matching die.

Twine was found at Target years ago.

You and Me Card - gold

This card is inspired by a sample in an old catalog.
I changed the colors and a couple of elements.
Everything used (other than the twine) was from Stampin' Up!
however most items are no longer available.

Heart Collage Valentine

Various dies, stamps, inks, embossing folder,
paper clay and mold, even a letterpress plate,
all from Stampin' Up!, were used to create this card.

The ribbon is a scrap from some old Christmas ribbon.

The paper clay flower was painted with silver craft paint.

I inked the letterpress plate with white before pressing the card stock.

Owl Always Love You Step Card

I think this is called a  "Step" card.
It was easy to make using a die.

I do not know the manufacturer of the owl
stamp and die.

The sentiment was done on my computer
and printer since the one that was in the stamp
set was much too large.

Various heart dies, card stocks, inks
and tiny hearts border embossing folder
are all from Stampin' Up!

Paper punches for the eyes and hand cut beak.

White gel pen to outline the hearts.

Thanks for looking =)

Detailed Floral Die Cut Card

Putting to use a new to me fancy die to create this card.
It was on clearance from Stampin Up! recently,
Despite the matching stamp set being no longer available,
I went ahead and bought it because I thought I could make
it work with things I already own.

The heart dies and sentiment were also
from Stampin' Up!

Silver embossing powder, Versamark ink

Silver satin ribbon

Red and white card stocks

Thanks for looking =)

The groundhog was correct -
we saw snow again yesterday.

However it isn't stopping daffodils from emerging :)
I am happy to see that they survived after
being under water during the flood last year.
