Congratulations to the New Grandparents Card
I made this card as a congratulations card for a cousin of mine who became a "granny" for the first time !
All stamp images are oldies from Stampin' Up!.
- Sweet Feet Stampin' Around wheel
- I'm Here, footprints
- Warmest Regards, Congratulations
The Pink Pirouette Card stock, ink, Whisper White card stock and scallop edge punch were also bought from SU! years ago.
The rhinestones were clear that I colored with a Sharpie marker.
The bakers twine was bought at Target.
The paper button was made with a punch by Martha Stewart crafts.
I hand cut the sentiment banner.
I decorated the inside of the card and the envelope, too, using that Sweet Little Feet Stampin Around wheel and sentiment from Brides and Babies (no photo).

Spiral Edge Punched Floral Birthday Card
A card I made late last winter with leftovers from another project.
I finally mailed it out this month.
It doesn't look like I ever shared it here on the blog,
so here it is today.
The flower images, sentiment and polka dot background
are from Stampin' Up!
The smile circle is unknown; it's a plain piece of rubber.

Happy Fall Card
A card made from really old scraps
that were originally on a
tissue box I recovered.
I had made a seasonal themed tissue box
for a contest many years ago.
It was dismantled after a year or so.
I kept the bits and pieces hoping that
one day I would find a new use for them.
The pumpkins were free hand cut
and details are with chalks.
The leaves are made with a new to me
oak leaf paper punch -
much smaller than I expected it to be.
The Stipple Plaid background was stamped with a
kaleidacolor ink pad on the Naturals Ivory card stock tag.
Words from Everyday Flexible Phrases
were stamped on a hand cut banner.
Orange eyelet and orange organdy ribbon
finish off the tag.
The tag is adhered on top of a scrap of patterned paper
from an old Die Cuts With A View stack.
The card base is Early Espresso textured card stock
from Stampin' Up!

Quick Birthday Card
A quick birthday card for a young teenage boy.
It's obvious to me after making this one today,
I need a break from crafting ;)
It's pretty "blah"except for the glitter on the
candle flames, nothing like the thought I've put
into some of the cards I've made him before.
I wanted to put a matching blue layer on the back,
but because I didn't trim the card down as I should have,
it isn't going to fit in the matching envelope I already made.
Using that darker blue as a final back piece would
have improved it, oh well.
Also, I glued the front panels onto the back side of
the card that I had preprinted on the inside !!!!
What a dork........ maybe he'll get a giggle out of it.
a kind of a trick or treat card since his birthday is
so close to Halloween anyway ! Yeah, perfect excuse !
I chose the orange and pop of blue theme to sort of be
the colors of a University team that his bedroom
had been painted in. I've already made several football
themed cards for him over the years.
I don't know that he cares all that much anyway,
you know how teenagers can be:
they only care about what may be inside (money!).
The background was made with a Stampin' Around wheel
and Pumpkin Pie ink. I added orange glitter to the flames.
The word bubble is from Hero Arts,
stamped in two shades of blue ink from Stampin' Up!
then hand cut out, attached with a pop dot.
The paper layer behind is actually a piece
that has pumpkins on it ! I had no intention
of having the pumpkin images show;
it happened to look nice with the texture.
Because I have used primarily orange colors
on this card (and the hidden pumpkin paper!),

Fairy Jar
This is the second fairy jar/lantern
that I've made.
My daughter saw the first one I made and thought it was neat.
She chose this particular die cut to use out of the several I bought
from a vendor at Amazon.com .
from a vendor at Amazon.com .
See yesterdays post for the coordinating luminaria easel card.
The jar once had a candle in it.
My mom cleaned it and gave it to me
to find a new use for it.
It worked perfectly for this fairy jar!
It was covered with white tissue paper
adhered with Mod Podge glue.
I brushed more glue over the top then sprinkled on
chunky old clear glitter from my stash.
The die cut is adhered inside with Mod Podge as well.
I tried to use a Xyron machine/adhesive applicator
but it didn't work well. The fibrous top layer
was being torn off as I tried to removed the die cut
from the paper backing.
I hot glued on several items from my crafty stash.
The butterfly is a rubber stamped and colored image
that was then paper punched.
Image and stamp were from Stampin' Up!

Luminaria Easel Card
This is the fun card I created to coordinate with the
fairy jar I made for my daughters birthday.
Visit my blog tomorrow to see the fairy jar/lantern.
Side view
Back view
It wasn't much more difficult than making a regular easel card.
I needed to cut out the center of the back piece so the
battery operated tea light would fit .
(DO NOT USE REAL CANDLES!!!)
The front of the card also had to be cut out
then a piece of vellum was adhered
so the candle light would show through.
Opened up, laying flat so you can see
the front and the back of the base.
The photo below shows it flipped over,
the insides of the card.
I adhered the chipboard fairy die cut to vellum paper
with clear tacky glue - but that was not a good idea.
It left bubbles and the black from the die cut reacted
with the glue, making an orange-ish mess.
I tried to use a Xyron adhesive machine first,
but the fibrous nature of the die cut was tearing
while trying to remove the paper backing.
Because the die cut looked awful glued to the vellum,
I traced over the top of it on the front
with a black Sharpie marker.
Should I try to make another one of these,
I'll buy and use spray adhesive.
Several die cuts and paper punches plus a corduroy button
and some twine were used to embellish the front.
The die cuts were accented with water color using ink.
The butterfly is a stamp image that I colored in
and punched with the coordinating punch.
The brown frame was embossed with a Texturz plate.
The Riding Hood Red large die cut scallop circle
was bought precut. It is really large and came with
coordinating XL square brown envelopes.
Many of the supplies I used were bought from
Stampin' Up! several years ago.
