Goodbye Kitty Pages

A couple more pages made with papers that I was recently gifted.
As soon as I saw these two, I knew what photo
I wanted to scrap.
These are last photos of Kitty after she had a stroke.

Now I have a couple of tips to share :

Glad Press 'N Seal to help hold die cut letters in place!

I haven't been able to figure out how to make the
letters connect into one single die cut
on the old Design N' Cut machine I bought used.
Each letter cuts out individually, which can be
challenging to glue straight onto a scrap page.

I read a tip recently to use Press 'N Seal to hold things
in place on scrapbook layouts. Hmmm, interesting.
I've never heard this tip, or even of the product.

Surprisingly, when I went to buy some at a local store,
it was nearly sold out! No joke, there were just 5 boxes
of it left on the shelf. It, like so many other products,
are still hard to find at times in our local stores.

How I did it:
I cut the word out on the old Design N' Cut machine.
I removed the bits from around the letters while
 still on the cutting mat.

I applied Press N' Seal to the die cut letters
then carefully removed them from the mat.

I flipped that over and applied some
clear drying liquid adhesive, just barely,
to the backs of the letters.

Flipped the entire piece (Press N' Seal with the letters adhered)
right side up and stuck them to the page.

The Press N' Seal was easy to remove,
leaving the letters in a nice row.
I've done this on two pages now and it worked well.
Yay!

Tip 2:
I wanted some flower elements to add to my pages,
so rather than cut up another piece of paper, I decided to
cut them out of my scrap page itself!
Back of page in photo above
The photos on the front cover the cut out area perfectly.
No one will see the back anyway since it will
have another page behind it!

I will cut the centers out of card stock mats for photos, too.
The scraps can come in handy.

Sunbathing Kitty Page

The sunburst was made with the leftovers
from a previous page. I made my own pattern
and hand cut it out.

Other than the metal tag, everything else on this page
came from Stampin' Up! years ago.

Flower Kitty Page

There will be a pull out journal card behind the large photo
on the upper left. The page was made with an old
scrapbook kit, featuring stickers, I bought long ago.
I made this page way back when,
but didn't put photos on it until now.

Thanks for looking, have a good day =)

Grumpy Kitty Page

I still need to make a title for this page.

The photos are of a none too happy old cat.
I brought home a new kitten, so she was
a little upset with me.

The layout was made using an old plastic template
from Deluxe Cuts.

Thanks for looking, have a good day =)

Kitty's Intro Page

This is the first page for Kitty's scrapbook.

Papers and elements are all quite old, unknown.
They were bought at a Big Lots store years ago.
The journaling piece was from a little notepad
filled with tear out prompts, also old.
I rubber stamped the name between brackets
that were preprinted on the journal card.

I'm not really very happy with this page,
I should've maybe used it for my male cat.
These are photos of a little girl kitty,
I should've made it more feminine.
The colors did go with the photos, though.
I'll make up for it on some other pages!

Thanks for looking, have a good day =)

Back to Scrappin'

I was finally able to get back to scrappin'
photos for the pet albums -
with a little "help" at times!

I have such a looooooong
way to go with that project,
plus a list at least an arm long
of other things I want to get done.
You know how it is ;)

I haven't been scrapping in any
particular order, just trying to get
pages done as time allows.

The first page I'll share is the one in the above photo.
It's part of a simple pocket page.
Patterned paper and embossed paper strips
behind the photos plus a die cut circle tag with
ribbons for the date.

It's actually the back of this page:

Old patterned papers and element, unknown.
Solid card stock and ribbon from Stampin' Up! matched well.
Word strip is a rubber stamp image from Lawn Fawn.

Cat Album Journal Cards PT2

A few more journal cards I made
for the cat scrapbook album.
A couple have pull out journal cards.
There are others, but they are pretty plain
so I didn't bother to photograph and share them.

I've officially finished that album
and will be moving on to another!

Thanks for looking =)

Curious Cat Scrapbook Page

This is the final scrapbook page for this album.
It is the very last photo taken of Mulligan
before his untimely passing a few days later
due to putting Hartz flea control on him.
Ever the Curious Cat,
he jumped into the cold air return
  while I was photographing the
progress of the kitchen redo for the day.
This is the only photo I have because I put the camera down
so I could coax him back out.

Patterned papers and buttons are from American Traditions

The card stock, paper punches, die and linen thread from Stampin' Up!

The M die cut was a bright green punch out that I
brayered darker green ink over.

Brown grosgrain ribbon

September 2011 page map was the layout inspiration

I guess this could be another related to songs
scrapbook page in a way:
Rum Tum Tugger from the musical Cats,
because he's a curious cat ;)

Thanks for looking !

My Favorite Things Scrapbook Page

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...."
from My Favorite Things, The Sound Of Music
Keeping with the play on music page titles I've shared recently ;)

I chose to use these colors of card stock to
 coordinate with the old elements
on this page of Mulligan's all time favorites.

My own layout.

Rubber stamp alphabet and card stocks, Stampin' Up!

Lawn Fawn teeny tiny paw print stamp

Assorted old elements and twine, various companies

Simple Fall Scrapbook Page

"Ooo, those tears leaves are falling" - Kiss
I couldn't resist this play on a song title for my scrapbook
page share today since I've managed to do
something similar the past few days  ;)

Patterned paper from DCWV
layered over card stock from Stampin' Up!
and a hand cut leaf shape made for a quick page.
I need to make more quick - and flat - pages.

Thanks for looking !

The White Scrapbook Pages

I used die cut numbers and letters
plus some rubber stamping with heat embossing
on these fairly simple,  uncluttered pages.
I like the way they turned out -
and they won't be bulky in the scrapbook!

Thanks for looking =)

Today's just for fun play on titles
related to music: The Beatles' White Album

Should They Stay or Should They Go

Paraphrasing an old song by The Clash here
because I'm not quite sure if I want to keep
the stamp images I have on this page,
or if I want to remove them.

I'm thinking about adding the date where "sick" is
and not quite sure what to put on the circle.
Maybe just the words "Sick Kitty".
If I do keep the ill penguin image,
it will be colored in. I just don't care for it.

Even though these are photos of my sick cat,
I'm thinking these elements would be better used
on a page for people. I do have a lot of journal cards
and scrapbook pages to make of the family still!

Some items used were from Stampin' Up!

Rollabind punched edge

Scenic Route papers

The layout is based off of an old Page Maps sketch.

EDITED:

AHA! I remembered an idea I'd seen
in the past to make paw prints from
paper punches!
I punched a heart and four small ovals
from Baja Breeze card stock
and adhered it over the circle tag.

With A Little Help From My Cat Scrapbook Page

A play on the Beatles song.....

This guy was my crafting buddy, always trying to lend
a helping paw when I was working in the craft dungeon.
On this particular day he was helping me unpack
my order of stampin' goodies.
I can't believe he's been gone nearly ten years!

I decided to ink up the vintage
Stella Stamper image for these photos.
I added the cat from the old Country Greetings stamp set
then colored the images with water color pencils.
There is a bit of a feminine feel to this page
for my old male cat.

The bottom edge of the navy blue panel was paper punched
and embossed with an all in one punch from Martha Stewart.

The paper, card stocks, ribbon and images were from Stampin' Up!

Metal tag, unknown

Close up of the stamped and colored images

If my buddy wasn't "helping" me craft,
he was finding the oddest places to sleep
while hanging out with me in the craft dungeon.
Many times in the middle of or on
what I was working with.

This is part of a pocket page.
The papers and mesh were from Stampin' Up!,
the stamp images and dies from Lawn Fawn
and the stickers, unknown.

I think this is the first time I've ever used mesh on a project!

Let The Sunshine In Scrapbook Page

My cats loved it when sun would stream in the windows,
especially on cold winter days after we had a run of
cloudy days. I'm the same, let that sunshine in and bask in it!

This is my attempt at making a sunburst background
from scratch - and the first time I have ever made
a sunburst design on any craft project.

The papers, Top Note Die, button,
embossing folder and small scallop circle punch
were from Stampin' Up!

Ribbon and trims, Michael's

Sticker quote, unknown

This is the pattern I made to create the sunburst.
I tried and tried to make one on the old
electronic die cut machine I bought
second hand, but I could not get it to work.
So, I put on my thinking cap,
used a pencil, ruler and eraser to make
this half pattern on a piece of drafting film.
I was going to make an entire 12 x 12 size pattern,
then decided why waste all the extra time when I
could just keep tracing this section.
I traced it onto patterned paper then
cut it out with scissors and
used double stick tape to adhere it
to a textured card stock background.

It's not perfect and was time consuming,
but it worked well enough.

The pieces that were removed will be used
on a layout for another scrapbook.

Thanks for looking =)
