I made my piece in My Memories Suite V8 software

using the Family Gathering digital kit by

JMC Designs.

Halloween Computer Screen Calendar

Todays' project that I am sharing with you

was created for the new challenge at

Digitally Made:

create a 100% digital project with the colors

black, orange, purple, green and/or a Halloween theme.

I designed a computer  screen desktop background.

It was made with the My Memories Suite V8 software

and a digi kit by JMC Designs, Bewitching Hour. 

How to:
Create a "custom size" project in the software
and type in your computer screens resolution.
Mine is 1920x1800.

There is a neat calendar feature in the software
that makes it easy to add calendars
to your digital projects.
You can edit the calendars in various ways, too.

I added various elements and papers from the digital kit,
basically making a digital scrapbook page sized to fit
my computer screen - and with a calendar page on it !

Digitally Made Challenge September

Time for a new challenge at 

Digitally Made:

fall inspired digital projects !

I created a facebook timeline cover with 

Pumpkin Delight Papers and

Autumn Sentiments from

We Are 3 digital shop on etsy,

our generous sponsor for this challenge.

The photograph is one of my own.

I use My Memories Suite V8 software
to create most of my digital projects.
It is easy to create a facebook timeline cover,
simply choose "custom" size and type in PIXELS
of 851 wide by 315 tall to create your cover.
I save as a JPG file,
unless I am creating a template with an
opening for a photo I may want to reuse.
In that case, it is saved as a PNG on
a transparent background.

Photo Painting Computer Background

Today's project is my design team image for Digitally Made.

The prompt we have for you this month is
to use Pets/Animals on your 100% digital project.

Although I have had several pets over the years that
I could have easily made a digital scrapbook layout of,

I decided to edit a digital photo of a bird for this project.
I wanted to make it look sort of like a painting.

I then added a quote. 

Original photo before editing in On1 Photo 10 software.

This pretty sandpiper (?) had been flitting back and forth

between a little bit of wood still above the flood waters

and the exposed gravel at the end of our flooded driveway.

It was late in the evening, the sun was well behind the treeline

so the lighting was not great. I took a few photos of it anyway 

since it's not a bird we would normally see in our yard !

The flood waters obviously pushed it inland. 

Simple edits to the photo to make it resemble a painting: 

Painted Photo filter, Watercolor Bright

Brown Rice Paper texture

Fibers texture (reduced opacity)

Text box added in Photoshop Elements 14, GistX Upright Bold font

Embossed edge in Photoshop Elements 14

The edited photo makes a nice computer screen background.

It could be printed onto card stock to make a card:

or even made into a print for a wall !

Upload a digital photo to nearly any photo processing site

for numerous product ideas to have it put on!

Digitally Made June Challenge

Time for a new challenge at

Digitally Made !

Our prompt this time is to Use a Quote

on your 100% digital project

(NOTHING handmade, we want to see purely digital work).

You can also be inspired by a quote and tell us

how you interpreted it in your project.

I created a computer desktop background 

 with images from We R 3:

Ladybug Matilda- pre-colored auburn

Watercolor paper- Ladybug Wishes

Digital Sentiment- Great Day
(all have been resized for my project)

 I used My Memories Suite V8 software to create it.

TIP: make a folder on your desktop to browse to
when using items from digital designers in the software. 
Place the items in this folder then open them up in the software.





The watercolor paper is inserted as a background on my 
custom sized project, based the on the pixels (1920x1200) of my monitor.

The ladybug image is inserted as an embellishment and resized.

The word bubble is a shape in the program,
colored white with a drop shadow added
and resized.

The sentiment is also added as an embellishment
on top of the word bubble and resized.

The calendar was easy to create in the program
because there is a special feature in the program 
for adding calendars. All you do is choose the month and year.
You can change the font and size as well as a few other 
options to design it to your liking. 
I did add the name of the month as a separate text box
 to make it much larger than what the auto calendar
feature would allow. 
I also added a white square punch, reduced opacity,
under the calendar. 

Saved as JPG, exported then added to my computer
as a desktop background, done ! 

REMINDER:

NOTHING HANDMADE should be submitted to our

100% DIGITAL CHALLENGE.

That is, NO printed images, etc. assembled into

tangible, HAND CRAFTED ITEMS.

That's why we call it a challenge=

to challenge you to use software

to create a strictly digital project

then share the finished jpg/png image with us !

There are many ideas for digital projects such as

digital scrapbook pages, email cards, social media banners,

digital paintings, digital art journal pages, collages,

backgrounds for your computer screen and more.

 Think of things that you would share online, digital images,

not physical hand made items you would give to someone in person.

Creating digitally is fun, plus there is no mess to clean up ;)

Digitally Made May Challenge

Welcome to the very first challenge at 

Digitally Made ! 

We are a new 100 % digital craft blog.

That is, no printed digital images 

assembled into tangible, hand crafted projects.

We want to see your digital art,

be it scrapbook pages, cards, inspirational

quotes combined with photos, banners

made for social media, backgrounds

for your computer screen, digital paintings,

printables, etc and so on ! 

We will have monthly themes to challenge you.

Our theme this month is Anything Goes - 

so long as it is completely digital and family friendly !

Our challenge is just for fun and inspiration,

there are no prizes awarded. 

Our winner for the month will be offered

a guest designer spot in a future challenge. 

I created a digital scrapbook page for my project.

I'm hoping to get a decent photo of my Mom and I

on Mother's Day to add to the completed page :) 

Digital Papers : I created them myself by scanning papers

(Attic Boutique) bought from Stampin' Up! several years ago.

I used the actual papers on several other projects that you

can see in additional posts this month as part

of other design team projects I made.

The papers were 12" x 12", so I had to scan them in two sections

using my Canoscan. I then used Photoshop Elements

to piece the two sections together - yes, it was quite

tricky, on some more than others. There may be an easier way

to do it using some function in the program that I am not aware of.

Once I was happy with the way I got them lined up, I cropped them

to a 12" square and saved them at 300 dpi. Sure, it was a lot of work

to make my own digital papers this way, but now I have digital versions

of this particular paper should I ever want to print it out for another

handmade project or use it digitally on additional projects (more likely).

they offered. It has since been discontinued and content

is no longer available. I use My Memories Suite now.

Photoshop Elements was the program of choice.

Color Challenge Digi Scrap Page

Today I'm sharing another quick digi scrap page for a challenge at 

Lasting Memories: #341 Color Inspiration.

I used a kit from JMC Designs called Celebrate Everyone 

which is actually a birthday themed kit, but there were enough extra elements 

to make it work for this page. It was the only digital kit I have that the colors 

would sort of work for this challenge ;)  I also used My Memories Suite V8 software.

Below is a fun little group of elements and text I created as a countdown reminder for

Digitally Made Challenges: we go live on May 1st!

Digital Birthday Card

We are counting down to the debut of the new

Digitally Made Challenge blog !

This is a new 100% digital crafts challenge

that goes live May 1st.

Today I am sharing a digital card I made 

for the countdown at Digitally Made.

I've created a digital card using
My Memories Suite V8 software
and elements from the Spaced Invaders
 digital kit by JMC Designs.

The rocket ship represents the number one
combined with the numeral zero embellishment
to create a "10" on this printable birthday card.
