Waterfront Card

A new to me set that is going to take some
practice - and looking for lots of inspiration to use!

This is a water color look set from Stampin' Up!
called Waterfront. I had to get it to make a
birthday card for my Uncle that recently
moved from Alaska to Georgia.
Inspired by a sample I found online somewhere.

Thanks for looking :)

Bonus Guy Card

I missed a birthday and needed a belated card for a "gearhead".
That blob behind the car is supposed to resemble smoke
from the burning rubber of the tires,
peeling out in a hurry to send late birthday wishes ;)

SUPPLIES:
Rubbernecker Mustang image
Other images from Stampin' Up!
Chevron border punch
silver mini brad

Guy Card 7

I mentioned several posts ago that I made
numerous masculine cards,
well here is the final one.

Everything used on this card came from Stampin' Up!,
most of which is from the Geared Up Garage suite.

The decorative strip that resembles a road was made by
myself with a white gel pen on black card stock.

The "smoke" from the tires "burning" was an image
in the set stamped onto vellum then hand cut out.

The sentiment tag is altered and uses two different stamp sets.
The one in the Geared Up Garage set says Happy Father's Day.
This was an experiment to try to change it to Birthday
and it worked pretty well inking up a word from the
Crazy About You stamp set.

Subtle embossing folder on Smoky Slate card stock
for the card front. I should've stamped the old
Highways and Byways background stamp on it,
it looks too "empty" to me now.

Image is water colored and has silver ink accents.

Thanks for looking =)

Guy Card 6

Another card I made recently that many men

(and some women!) would like to receive.

The stamp images are from Stampin' Up!, One Wild Ride set.

Geared Up Garage dies, also from Stampin' Up!

Guy Card 5

Another card suitable for a man -
or even a woman that likes hot rods!

The truck image is from Stampin' Up!, Classic Pickups.
It was water colored with inks from my ink pads
using an aqua painter.

The words are also from Stampin' Up!
Heat embossed onto black card stock
to resemble a tire and wheel.

The patterned paper and die cuts are from
Stampin' Up!, Geared Up Garage.

Diamond Plate embossing folder by Darice.

Papers and inks, Stampin' Up!

We, like many parts of the country, are going to see SNOW today!
Unusual for this late in the season.
We'll also have below freezing temperatures
coming in the next two nights,
good thing I didn't put out any plants yet.
I was always told "don't plant until after tax day",
but I don't even plant that soon, just in case.
I'd be safe if I used this year's tax day
since it was extended ;)

Thanks for looking =)

Guy Card 3

 Simple enough guy card:

Stamp the background or
use patterned paper
(I used a Hero Arts background stamp)

Pressure emboss a scrap of
"chrome" paper with a Diamond Plate
embossing folder (from Darice)

Paper punch a red circle

Die cut a nesting stitched label die
(Stampin' Up!) and rubber stamp
a sentiment (also from SU!)

I stamped screw head images in the corners,
but you cold add real brads or eyelets

Attach the circle and label with dimensionals

Thanks for looking =)

Guy Card 1

If you are looking for masculine card inspiration,
I have several to share with you the next week.

We have many friends and family members
that are "gear heads", so I like to make
automotive themed cards for their birthdays.
Most of those birthdays are at this time of year!

This first card uses images from a Tim Holtz/Hero Arts set.
They are stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Vanilla card stock.

It is combined with two background sets by Stampin' Up!,
Highways and Byways   and Sanded.
Stamped with Crumb Cake and Tip Top Taupe inks.

I stamped the twill ribbon with an image from SU!

The front panel was cut into thirds then glued back in place
onto a piece of Crumb Cake card stock.
It's then layered onto a textured piece of Espresso card stock.

Thanks for looking =)

Gearhead Birthday Card

I had fun putting together this card for another one of my uncles

that enjoys old cars.

The die cut chrome gears back ground piece is leftover

from this card I sent the other uncle recently.

I bought the Gearhead Garage set in early 2019

and have it used it quite a bit.

I keep hoping that one day there will be coordinating

images to that set / designer papers.

"happy birthday" is from the Something to Say set

that is a bit older.

Everything, other than the die cut 75,  came from Stampin' Up!

This card just so happens to fit the current challenge at

Retro Rubber Challenge :

#151 Red, Black, White and Gray !

I had a little help from my barn cat
that is becoming quite comfortable indoors :)

Thanks for looking, stay safe and warm.

Wheely Nice Birthday Card

The inside of this card is a bit "cheesy",
but I think the recipient will still like it.
He's a Chevy guy, into hot rods.

The wheel and tire are made from various dies,
custom trimmed and pieced together.
Gears, Starburst, Circles and a paper punch

I cut a teeny, tiny Chevy bow tie by hand
for the center cap.

Stamp Sets:
Nailed It, Gorgeous Gunge and All Around Argyle

Gearhead Garage paper

Everything used was bought from Stampin' Up!
over the years, many things are no longer available.

Inside sentiment was created on my computer and printed out.

I didn't expect to be making much so soon this new year
since I already have a drawer full of completed cards,
but I had a small drawer of bits n' pieces
that I decided I really ought to do something with.
So, this month I'll have a post almost every day
to share all the cards I made recently!

Thanks for looking =)

Copper Oak Tree Card

Throwing together a few scraps to come up with this card.
I rather like how it turned out!

The oak tree is heat embossed with copper powder.
It's from Lovely As A Tree by Stampin' Up!

There are a few sprinkles stamped with copper Encore ink.

The mini leaf images were done with Versamark ink.

The paper punch leaf is from copper paper and
over stamped with the copper Encore ink.
I used a leaf rubber stamp image.

The thin strip of chevron embossed card stock was a piece
I trimmed off of my recently posted 4 Wheeler Card.

The canvas is a scrap from wide, wired craft ribbon.

The frame was created by carefully trimming around the
square opening in a scrap that I had die cut a square from
for another card. It didn't work half bad!

Thanks for looking =)

Skater Boy Card

I may have gone overboard with this one!
I should have left the "enamel dots" off
and used them on another card.

Once again, I used several old stamp sets from
Stampin' Up! to create this card.
On The Go
Tape It
a couple of texture/grunge sets

Thanks for looking =)

Dirt Biker Card

Fun combination of images on this card!

It's difficult to see some of the details in the photo:
The entire stamped panel is popped up over the base.
The torn strip of Sahara Sand is textured.
The gears were cut out of black card stock and
I dabbed brown paint on them.

All supplies were from Stampin' Up!
(other than the acrylic craft paint)

Thanks for looking =)

All supplies used were from SU!

Classic Chevy Card

It was fun combining different things to come up with
this masculine card.

I even used a tufted embossing folder to
replicate fancy seat upholstery some classic cars have.
I have plenty of more masculine type things I could
have used for the background, but the man I made
this for used to do upholstery.

The image is water colored with inks from my
classic dye ink pads and an aquapainter.
A metallic silver pencil was used for chrome details.

Everything used came from Stampin' Up!
although most things are retired now.

Thanks for looking, have a great day =)

25th Birthday Step Card

I'm not overly thrilled with the way this card turned out,
I was trying to do something different.

The words stamp image and card stocks came from Stampin' Up!.

The balloon image and die were from Technique Tuesday,

I used numerous die sets, most were from Sizzix.

I didn't want to make a red/black/white/gray card
or one that was automotive themed for the recipient because
I've been making those types of cards for him for years.
I also wanted something different since it was a
25th birthday. I haven't signed it yet, I might make another
one to give him since this one is "eh"to me.

Thanks for looking =)
