There was a strip of silver removed from one of the other
pages that I paper punched snowflakes out of  for use on other pages.
There was also just enough to die cut the letters for this page.

I added silver brads to the snowflakes on these pages.

Snow Much Fun Album PGS 6 7

Premade scrapbook album pages before, above

The same pages after I added my own touches.

Some of the elements on some of the pages
were fairly easy to remove, such as the silver
strips of card stock on this page.

I removed them then ran them through an embossing folder.

They were then glued back on along with strips of printed
twill tape ribbon.

Additional elements were made with die cuts,
embossed pieces, rubber stamping and
two part epoxy/metal brads that I
inserted rubber stamped pieces in.
Unfortunately the epoxy cover changed the color
of the ink so it doesn't match the other stamped pieces :(

Snow Much Fun Scrapbook

I mentioned last month that I made several scrapbook pages, but never shared them.
Well, they will be showing up daily on my blog for the first couple of weeks this month !

I bought an  8x8 premade scrapbook on clearance at Target quite some time ago.
I never got around to using it until this year (where does the time go? geesh),
spending the first few days of the new year sorting through old photos.

I knew I wanted a photo of each family member, pets included,
enjoying (or not which is the case with two of the pets!) the snow.
I then needed to plan the layouts, knowing that I wanted to embellish the pages more.
I easily spent the first two weeks of the new year on this project alone.

People (my husband!) always ask what do I do since I don't work from home,
assuming I sit around watching TV or playing on the computer all day.
No, not at all. In fact, I don't watch much TV nor do I spend hours
on the computer...... unless I am doing digital scrapbooking, photos or blogging ;)
I make something every single day and those things take time.
Most people don't realize how long it can take to make a card for example,
not to mention the time to clean up afterwards.

Anyway................ enough rambling.
Here are before and after photos of two of the twenty
snow themed scrapbook pages I made last month.

First up, the cover

This is a closeup of the insert I made for the cover.
I was originally going to make a digital project
and print it out. It would have been less time consuming.
I ended up stamping, coloring, adding die cut letters,
layers and glittery accents to the cover piece.

The first and last pages were identical,
with a die cut border at the top.
I flipped them sideways and added
a few extras.

 die cut numbers
metallic silver mat with a punched border
hand punched and pierced tag
silver snowflake with brad

I used embossing folders and some ink
plus a scrap of ribbon to make an element for this page.

Thanks for looking, have a great day !

Dimensional Snowman Frame

Welcome to the first challenge of 2019
at
We are a month long anything crafty goes challenge
(so long as it is family friendly).

My design team project this month is a photo frame.
It's an old odd sized paper mache frame.
The opening is long and very narrow (4"W x 2"T,
but actually smaller due to the overhanging snowflakes),
so I haven't been able to find a photo to fit it properly - yet.
There is a piece of rubber stamped card stock in it for now.
(Snow Stampin' Around wheel by Stampin' Up!)

The basic idea is to glue snowflake shapes onto
a frame base then add a snowman shape.
You can add glitter, paint, other embellishments
as desired to make it your own.
It can be a simple enough project for a child
or slightly more advanced
depending on the supplies and techniques you wish to use.

Close up of some of the details:
~snowman made from die cut circles covered with
snow texture medium
~a nose made from Sculpey clay
~eyes and buttons are tiny paper punched circles
of textured black card stock, attached with tacky glue
~tiny twigs found in my yard that I added snow texture
medium to and hot glued into place for arms
~gingham ribbon for a scarf

I happened to have three die cut fun foam circles
leftover from my snowman shaker card
that I used to make the snowman on this project.
It was more work trimming them down
then gluing them to card stock to create the snowman
shape versus making one solid image from scratch.
I wanted to use the scraps which is why I did it this way.

Once I had them all trimmed the way I wanted and
glued into place, I applied a thick layer of snow texture medium.
This took an entire day to dry.

Use a rubber stamped or printed snowman image
cut out with scissors for a quicker, easier project.

The fun foam die cut snowflakes were painted with
glitter nail polish.
I added large rhinestones to the centers of some of them.
Cut snowflakes from glitter paper to save some time.
I was using what I already had on hand;
these snowflakes were bought years ago for my kids to
make crafts with. The glitter nail polish is leftover from
a one time event and will never be worn again.
It is handy for craft purposes- but is really smelly !

I painted a paper mache frame with acrylic craft paints
and let it dry well before hot gluing on the snowflakes.

A photo of some of the supplies I used

Thanks for looking !
Wishing you a happy, crafty new year !
