Pink Party Hats Card

This card took longer than I planned!

I could have simply stamped party hats,
but I decided to find punches to make them.

I used a double pennant punch from Stampin' Up!
I'm not sure of the name, but it has a triangle and
a slightly larger scalloped triangle.
I used a portion of the scallop for the
glittery bottom edge of the hats.

The glittery pom top is the center of a
really old snowflake paper punch from SU!

Assorted embossing folders, rubber stamps,
brads, patterned paper, dimensionals
 and inks finish it off.

Thanks for looking =)

Glittery Princess Card

Once again, inking up some old stamps
from Stampin' Up! for this sweet
- and glittery! - card.

It's difficult to see in the photos,
but I used some diamonds Stickles
on the crown and wand.
Rhinestones finish off the crown.
There are also strips glitter paper
on the front and inside.

The images are water colored in
with inks from my classic dye ink pads
and an aquapainter.

Thanks for looking =)

Birthday Candle Trio Cards

Putting to use some old Jolee's stickers
to make these bright, somewhat CAS cards.

I custom cut the die cut stitched rectangle,
making it smaller than the original die
to fit the images better.

The background is embossed with a
Cuttlebug folder.

The rubber stamp images are oldies
from Stampin' Up!
I water colored them in.

The card stocks are also from SU!
and match the colors of the candles
well in real life.

Thanks for looking =)

Mosaic Card 2

Today's card is inspired by a sample in
an old Stampin' Up! catalog.

Everything used on this card came from
Stampin' Up! over the years.

Mosaic CAS Card

Today's card is very similar to a sample in
an old Stampin' Up! catalog.
Other than the large orange enamel dot,
everything used on this card came from
Stampin' Up! over the years.

Thanks for looking =)

Go Fly A Kite

I put scrap booking on hold for a while.
I've been busy making cards instead,
so I'll be sharing them over the next couple of weeks.

We were in an oppressive heat wave from late July
into the first few days of August. Miserable.
We have a break in the heat and humidity right now,
so I'm enjoying the breeze coming through the windows
in my craft room. We've had two days of fall like
weather, but the "dog says of summer"
move back in tomorrow. Yuck.

Since it would be perfect kite flying weather here today,
I decided to share this kite card first.

It is made with a kite die set.
I don't know the manufacturer, sorry.
I found it at a yard sale and there was no packaging.

The banner dies, clouds embossing folder, stamp sets,
card stocks and inks are all from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for looking =)

57th Anniversary Card

This is another one of those 3+ hour cards
I tend to make. Time gets away from me
as I try out different ideas until I ultimately
settle on something and get the card finished ;)

My husband's long time friends
recently celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary,
so I wanted a special card.

I was a bit stumped at first on what I wanted to do,
then this came together after some trial and error.
It was a bit difficult for me to line up the stamped
flowers and the die cut inside.
I ended up cutting larger pieces then trimming them
down to fit after stamping and die cutting.
Maybe I should look to see if there are some tips
on how to make the process easier?

Everything, other than the little metal heart,
came from Stampin' Up! and are no longer available.

Thanks for looking, have a great day =)

Classic Chevy Card

It was fun combining different things to come up with
this masculine card.

I even used a tufted embossing folder to
replicate fancy seat upholstery some classic cars have.
I have plenty of more masculine type things I could
have used for the background, but the man I made
this for used to do upholstery.

The image is water colored with inks from my
classic dye ink pads and an aquapainter.
A metallic silver pencil was used for chrome details.

Everything used came from Stampin' Up!
although most things are retired now.

Thanks for looking, have a great day =)

Groovy Late Birthday

This was a fun birthday card to make!

Everything other than the embossing folder
came from Stampin' Up! and most
are no longer available.

The colors are some I rarely use
(Calypso Coral and Groovy Guava)

The layout is similar to a sample
on the cover of the new Stampin' Up! catalog.

The stamp set is an oldie called
Furnished With Love.
I water colored it with an aquapainter
and inks from my ink pads.

The embossing folder by Cuttlebug
is Flowers and Vine.

Thanks for looking, have a great day =)

Sympathy Shimmer

I had this floral die cut panel sitting in my
 to-do-something-with-someday box.
I cut an extra when I made a wedding card earlier this year
to save a little time if I needed a card that it would work for.
Unfortunately, we needed a sympathy card recently
and I didn't have any already made on hand.

The die cut piece is Whisper White card stock with
a shimmery paper layer behind.

I added organdy ribbon, a die cut butterfly, sentiment banner
and adhered the entire panel to a Buckaroo Blue card base.

I finished off the inside to coordinate.

All supplies used were from Stampin' Up!
(except the ribbon)

Thanks for looking, have a good day =)
