Wreath and Tree Cards - leafy branch punch

I had some scraps of dark green card stock,
so I punched out a bunch of leafy branches.
I made two cards with them,
nothing fancy and not a new idea,
but a great way to use those small scraps.

CAS Pine Trees Christmas Card

The image is an oldie from the Stampin' Up! set A Holiday Hello. It is water colored with inks from my classic dye ink Stampin' pads and an aquapainter.

I used white craft paint and a toothpick to dot on the white.

Gold star brad and twine finish off the tag.

The background was stamped with a Flannel Plaid background stamp.

My card was chosen as the CAS617 challenge favorite :)

Fairly quick card and not too bumpy to require extra postage (I did add an extra piece of card stock over the top to help smooth over the brad).

CAS Felt Wreath Card

Despite having so many Christmas cards already
completed well ahead of the season,
I made several more new ones this year.

I thought I was done by late November,
even stating on my blog that I likely
wouldn't be posting as much, but.....
I decided to make even more!

I was using up some scraps to get them out
of the way and be ahead on Christmas cards
for next year. I also had a couple requests
to make cards because although cards
were already sent, the recipient missed my
handmade cards. Hubby sent store bought,
hot rod themed cards to certain people this year,
but my cards were missed by the wives. I had to giggle!

So, this is the first of 14 more Christmas cards
I'll be sharing. This one is super simple,
the only way it can be any easier to make
is to use a piece of patterned paper vs.
embossing a piece of card stock for the background!
Sure, I could have added more to this one,
but I liked it this plain. It has lots of dimension.

The felt wreath came from Stampin' Up! years ago.
The embossing folder is from Sizzix.
The textured red card stock is a Coredinations
piece that SU! sold years ago. I decided not to sand
the raised areas on this one, left it as is.

Blush and Black Belated Birthday Card

Putting to use some scraps to make this card
that I needed recently.

The bottom picture is closer to the real life colors.

I had this paper punched piece of Blush Blossom
card stock in my scrap bag,
in the hanging file folder, for a looooooong time.
I forgot all about it since I don't use BB often.
I wanted to make a card that used a light pink,
so I pulled that drawer for a change and saw this piece.
I thought about it for a moment and came up with this idea
to put that off center punched piece to use after all this time.

I glued some scraps of patterned
paper behind the paper punch "window".

I paper pierced around the edge.

I added paper punched shapes to the center,
the top one is a glitter paper.

The top is trimmed with washi tape and
baker's twine. I know I would have liked
a ribbon bow on it better, but I was trying to
keep it fairly flat so that it wouldn't
require extra postage.

I meant to take a photo of the inside, but forgot.
I simply stamped a large, fun script Happy Birthday image
then added the word "Belated" stamped onto a white banner.
It was glued over the center of the HB image.

Happy New Home Christmas Card

I found out that one of my cousins
bought her first house, so I had to make
a special Christmas card for her.

The house stamp image is from Stampin' Up!
I water colored it with inks from my classic
Stampin' Up! ink pads.

The leafy branch punch is from Marth Stewart.
Bow punch, unknown.

Brick embossing folder, Darice.
I lightly rubbed an ink pad across it.

Lifetime Moments Template Packs

There are two new template packs releasing today
by MDD Designs, exclusively at Pickleberry Pop.

I made a layout with each template pack,
but am only sharing one today.
Why?
Because the second layout uses a pretty new
kit that releases the 15th, so you'll need to stop
back by to see it then ;)

Simply Free layout template and an older bundle,
Who Am I . The add on pack includes knight images.
