Gearhead Birthday Card

I had fun putting together this card for another one of my uncles

that enjoys old cars.

The die cut chrome gears back ground piece is leftover

from this card I sent the other uncle recently.

I bought the Gearhead Garage set in early 2019

and have it used it quite a bit.

I keep hoping that one day there will be coordinating

images to that set / designer papers.

"happy birthday" is from the Something to Say set

that is a bit older.

Everything, other than the die cut 75,  came from Stampin' Up!

This card just so happens to fit the current challenge at

Retro Rubber Challenge :

#151 Red, Black, White and Gray !

I had a little help from my barn cat
that is becoming quite comfortable indoors :)

Thanks for looking, stay safe and warm.

Five Assorted Cards

This little penguin card was chosen as a
CAS Favorite at Splitcoasstampers !

I created all of these cards using stamped or die cut bits
I've had stored in my "to do something with someday" drawer.
I decided that although I don't really need to have more
completed cards on hand since I have a lot already,
I did want to work on thinning out that drawer ;)

I started with these assorted cards,
then shifted gears to making Valentine type cards.
I had a baggie full of heart die cuts and such
I didn't use up last year and since added to.
Next up, Valentine's cards!

Everything used came from Stampin' Up! over the years.

Thanks for looking =)

Wheely Nice Birthday Card

The inside of this card is a bit "cheesy",
but I think the recipient will still like it.
He's a Chevy guy, into hot rods.

The wheel and tire are made from various dies,
custom trimmed and pieced together.
Gears, Starburst, Circles and a paper punch

I cut a teeny, tiny Chevy bow tie by hand
for the center cap.

Stamp Sets:
Nailed It, Gorgeous Gunge and All Around Argyle

Gearhead Garage paper

Everything used was bought from Stampin' Up!
over the years, many things are no longer available.

Inside sentiment was created on my computer and printed out.

I didn't expect to be making much so soon this new year
since I already have a drawer full of completed cards,
but I had a small drawer of bits n' pieces
that I decided I really ought to do something with.
So, this month I'll have a post almost every day
to share all the cards I made recently!

Thanks for looking =)

Blushing Gray First Frost

I just had to make another card with this pretty stamp and die set!
It's called First Frost and is no longer available from Stampin' Up!

The front panel is a scrap of card stock that was in a grab bag
of paper scraps I bought years and years ago. I have no idea of
the manufacturer or color name, but it is a pretty pale off white
with light gray speckles. Cleaning up scraps I came across it, again,
and decided today was the day to put it to use after all of these years.

I'd been inspired by card samples and put this pink/gray combo
for flowers in the back of my mind for something different to try.

I did not put a sentiment on the front so I can
use it for any number of occasions, when it is needed.

All supplies used, other than the pale gray speckled top panel,
came from Stampin' Up! over the years.

 Colors:

Blushing Bride, Smoky Slate and Basic Gray
The bottom photo is true to color.

Mambo Frost Card

I wanted a bright and cheery card for the recipient
to hopefully brighten her birthday. It's been so cloudy and gloomy
here lately on top of the pandemic and political stuff going on.
I custom printed this saying for the inside:

Sending your way
a bouquet of happiness
to wish you a very
Happy Birthday!

Everything used (other than the polka dot ribbon)
 came from Stampin' Up!
Most items are no longer available.

Colors:
Melon Mambo, Gable Green, Green Galore

First First Frost Card

This is the first of five cards I made with the
new to me First Frost stamp and die set
 by Stampin' Up! (retired)
I'll post one card each day over the next couple of weeks.

My daughter gave it to me for Christmas.
Although I have oodles of cards already made,
I just had to play with this pretty set :)

All supplies used
were bought from Stampin' Up! over the years.
Most are no longer available.

Colors:
Primrose Petals, Sage Shadow, Pistachio Pudding

I'm impressed with the way the flowers
inked up and stamped. They look just like this,
a multi-tonal water colored sort of look,
by simply stamping on a single color ink pad.

Other Supplies:
sentiment from Floral Frames
3D Tufted Embossing Folder
sequins
dimensionals

You Warm My Heart Card

My first card of 2021!

I received this sweet stamp image as a Christmas gift
and just had to put her to use for a Thank You card
to mail to the gift giver :)
Snow Day by Pure Innocence for My Favorite Things.

For the top stitched edge panel
I moved the piece of card stock after running
it though the stitched edge die. It was shorter
than the die. After I ran it through, I moved
the card stock down to the bottom edge and
ran it through again. Sometimes this technique
works really well as it did on this card and
other times the stitches don't line up so well.

I water colored the image with inks from my Classic
Stampin' Up! dye ink pads using an aqua painter.

I added a little bit of Stickles diamonds glitter glue
to the snowballs.

The snow covered background was die cut and stamped
with old supplies from Stampin' Up!
I used shimmer paper for the ground.

The colors are also from SU!
Baja Breeze, Pink Pirouette, Almost Amethyst

The teeny tiny snowflake is actually the part
cut out from a border edge punch.
Rhinestone center.
