Shimmery Navy Snowflakes Holiday Card

I’m not too pleased with how this turned out at first, it was an experiment.
I dry embossed snowflakes onto Night of Navy card stock. I then tried to carefully apply Versamark ink and shimmering embossing powder to the raised areas. It got messy and didn’t quite work as I had hoped. Sooooooo, I sprayed on a lot of home made shimmer spray and attached a super shimmery premade chipboard frame found at a local discount store. I stamped the greeting from Stampin’ Up! onto Whisper White card stock then glued the frame over it. In the end it worked well enough although I wish it had worked the way I envisioned it.

Christmas At Heart Digital Kit

All three of the above digital projects were created using two kits
from Loni at Grace Blossoms 4 U:

The first is a scrapbook page and
the other two are greeting cards.

I made another scrapbook page
and posted it several days ago here.

The Rudolph card was made using
punches in the My Digital Studio program
by Stampin' Up!

If you like using digital kits in your crafting,
be sure to stop by her store now through December 31st
as she is having a sale in celebration of
being the guest designer at Scraps-N-Pieces.com !
She is also offering coupons to her store,
details in the graphic below.

Handmade Christmas Cards I've Received

What a fun surprise in yesterdays mail :
not one but two handmade holiday cards !

The first was made by a blogging friend,
It uses all sorts of lovely Stampin' Up! products.
It is difficult to see in the photo,
but there are touches of glitter glue in the centers of the
hand colored flowers as well as ink sponged along
the edges of the decorative paper.

The second is from a long time "pen pal".
Don't you just love the snowflake eyes on her
Santa ? I think it looks like his eyes are twinkling ;)
That holly embossed white paper is awesome, too !

Holiday Woodcuts Santa Card

This card was made using a piece from an old holiday project from years ago when I ran the Christmas Bazaar at the elementary school. I made a hanging tag (the large layered middle piece with Santa on it) for a basket that we kept candy canes in. I kept that hanging tag knowing some day, granted it was a half dozen years later, I would reuse it .

I made faux brads to cover the four holes that were punched in the original tag for hanging with ribbon.
I stamped the background of the card front with an old background stamp (Country Plaid ?) and Bravo Burgundy ink from Stampin’ Up!

Santa's beard was created with a dimensional paper paint that was sold years and years ago, I believe the Tulip company sold them. I loved using that white paint for creating fur on projects !

Festive Flurry Ornament Card

Finally, a card using a current stamp set from Stampin’ Up!
Festive Flurry stamp set and coordinating dies as well as a holiday greetings stamp set, Whisper White and Metallic Silver card stocks, rhinestones, Encore Silver Metallic ink, scrap of ribbon were all used to create this card that features a removable ornament.
I scored and creased a couple of the die cuts to give the ornament a little more dimension.
The back of the ornament has a die cut circle stamped with a greeting that is adhered over the ends of the ribbon.
It does require extra postage to mail a card like this, but I think it is a fun surprise for the recipient.

A Holiday Hello Card

Here is another old stamp set being put to use this year.
This is a set of smaller country cute images. I used the trees on this card. There are also a snowman, santa and angel images.
All supplies used were from Stampin’ Up! , though most are retired.

Pretty Poinsettia Card

As much as I like the new poinsettia stamp set in the Stampin’ Up! holiday catalog (and the sample made with it), I knew I should not buy it since I already have a barely used poinsettia stamp set. It inspired me to dig it out and make a card with it this year.
I stamped the images with Versamark ink onto colored card stock then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I carefully trimmed out with scissors then glued the layers together to create the poinsettia.
An old shadow background stamp square (remember when those were so popular years ago?) was stamped with Gold Encore ink onto Whisper White card stock then run through and embossing folder in the Big Shot machine.
This was layered onto gold metallic and Real Red textured card stocks.
The finished card is 4.25” x 4.25” square.

Song In Your Heart Holiday Card

Here is the last of my old “cute kids” stamp images from Stampin’ Up! This set is called Song In Your Heart. I do miss the old style stamps. There just aren’t many images that are fun to color in the newer catalogs it seems.

I made a Halloween card and a Thanksgiving Card with similar cute kids.
All three cards were sent to the same person.

This is a 5” x 7” card.

All supplies used were from Stampin’ Up!, many are retired.

Birthday Facebook Timeline Cover

I had too much fun wasting time
playing around with a digital scrapbook program
to create this facebook timeline cover!

I LOVE that the stamp images can be colored
using a feature in My Digital Studio.

I used three different colors on the flame
then a single color on each of the candles.

The white stripes are achieved by
layering a small white rectangle behind the candle
stamp image which has a transparent background.
If I did not layer the white behind there,
you would see the other candle behind them through
what should be the white stripe.

I mirrored some of the candle images, too,
to create more interest.

It was fun -
and the first time I've used that paint a stamp image feature !

Oh, I almost forgot:
this was also the first time I used the
crop a stamp image feature to chop up
and recreate the sentiment stamp !
It also required some touching up
with the paint feature to remove some parts.

A little bit of black scalloped dots ribbon to finish it off
and I think it is a cheery timeline cover for the day
(just don't count the candles , ha ha !)

Here is a handmade birthday card I received:

Acetate Holiday Card

This is a card created with some old bits and pieces I hadn’t used yet. I added the Holly Jolly stamp, new from Stampin’ Up! this year. The snowflake die cut is from an old Cuttlebug die and embossing folder set of mine. I’m not sure where the striped paper came from , it is an old scrap.
