House Of Cards - Stitching

September First!
Bring on the fall weather :)
It's also time for a new challenge at
Stitching !
Use real or faux stitching on your card creations
and share them with us before September 30th.
Please read the House Rules first.

This card is the first that I made for the challenge, and although I liked it, I wanted to do something different. Then life happened ................ those plans were soon forgotten.............

Things have been quiet on my blog (and in the craft dungeon) the past couple of weeks due to my dad being in the hospital then just recently passing away. I plan on visiting challenge entrants and fellow HOC team mates' blogs once I make it past the Celebration of Life we are planning for in two weeks. I have several projects to share yet, too. Slowly, but surely, getting back to my day to day life (and back to the craft dungeon eventually).

Card details:
Paper, card stocks, ink and rubber stamp image are from Stampin' Up!
"Crocheted ribbon", gifted to me and bought at Michael's
Sewing machine and thread
Scrap paper to sew the quilt pieces to (adhered in place first in the centers)
Coluzzzle Stampendous Crazy Quilt template
Double stick tape
Foam dimensionals/pop dots

This is a six inch square card, it required me making an envelope to fit and extra postage to mail.

Sewing and trim detail

I lightly sponged ink on the edges of each piece
before sewing it to the scrap paper

Back of  pieces sewn to scrap paper.
I used double stick tape to adhere it to the card base.

Template that I found at a yard sale
and used to create this card.

Thanks for looking =)
Be sure to visit the rest of the amazing cards
our design team has created for this challenge !!!
You have until September 30th submit your own creations.

Simple Days Digi Kit

I just love this new kit
Simple Days by JMC Designs
and now available at
Scraps-N-Pieces.com .
I look forward to doing more with it !

All papers and embellishments used were in the kit,
some were resized smaller.

The top layout is inspired by one I saw online, somewhere.
Sorry, I did not save the link or designers name, only
recall seeing the basic design and thinking to myself
"I need to remember that idea of the three strips of paper
behind a single focal point photo."

Pages were created using My Memories Suite V6 software.

Thanks for looking =)

Bookworm Digi Kit

Bookworm is a re-released kit in the

Above are a scrap page,
created using a template found at the SNP forum,
and a set of printable bookmarks.

many creative projects, not just scrapbook pages !

HI Pink Geometric Cards

Set of cards I made and donated to Operation Write Home.

The pink geometric paper is sticker paper. It was in a grab bag of goodies I bought at a yard sale so I have no idea where it came from.

H I is die cut from chipboard and metallic card stock that I glued together.

Super simple design !

Bookmark Birthday Card

This is a birthday card that has a removable bookmark.
 After stamping the greeting,
I cut a slit in the front above and below.

The slit is through the top white layer only.

The flowers and leaves have been dry embossed
around the outer bold edges with a coordinating brass template.

It looks kind of plain,
I should have embossed something on the front white piece first.

This is the reverse side of the bookmark.
It was it's own separate piece.
Once I stamped and did the dry embossing around the flowers and leaves
(I used a brass stencil and stylus), on the front piece and the back piece
I glued them together.

Punched a hole then inserted ribbon.

Inside the card.

The envelope also matched.

The rubber stamp images with coordinating stencil
are a really old set from Stampin Up!, Fanciful Flowers.
Each of the three different sentiment stamps were also from Stampin' Up!

Vellum Die Cut Flower CAS Card

Simple, clean card donated to Operation Write Home. I still have many more cards to share of those that I photographed before sending them out - 321 cards in my final box then an additional 25 in an envelope!  FYI, sending 321 cards in a flat rare priority mail large box is much more economical than mailing 25 cards in a bubble wrap envelope: $16 for the heavy box vs $6.65 for the less than a pound envelope !!!

It has been odd these past couple weeks since sending them off to not go to the craft dungeon to work on a card almost daily to send in . It has freed up more time to work on my oodles of digital photos from the past few months though (I needed to get them organized and burned to disc, cataloged in my notebook)! I've also been working on digital scrapbook pages with my new design team duties for JMC Designs as well as the design team duties for House Of Cards Challenge blog.

Anyway, the simple card details:

Colored vellum die cut flowers attached to shimmery light weight paper and card stock with a brad.

Rubber stamp image is from Stampin' Up! It was stamped with a purple ink then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Thanks for looking =)

Summertime Fling Digi Kit

A digital scrapbook page and card front that I made with the new digi kit
by JMC Designs at Bits-N-Pieces.com
I used a template in Photoshop Elements for the page.

Everything on the card is in the kit
other than the word "Birthday" that is text I added.
The card was created with My Memories Suite.

Below are the colorful kit contents:

Space Invaders digi kit

I  used the re-released kit Space Invaders by
to create the above digital card front
and scrapbook page.
I used one of the templates from the challenge forum
at Scraps-N-Pieces for the page.
