Christmas Town Digi Kit

There is a new Bits N Pieces digital kit in the store today at
Scraps-N-Pieces.com !
It is called Christmas Town
and is created by JMC Designs.

I had fun playing with this one,
honestly I always enjoy coming up with digi or hybrid projects
with the terrific kits by Jodi.

The first project is a simple facebook timeline cover.
I reduced kit elements in size and added a text box
over a background, easy !

The second is a printable card front that I love !
Cropping and reducing in size some of the elements,
adding my own text boxes and photo filling
a shape to create the snow covered ground -
all easy enough to do with the My Memories 8 software.
I used this software to create all three of my projects.
I'm entering my printable, all digital card front in the current challenge at
Digitally Sweet Challenges,

The third is a scrapbook page.
I built a Christmas tree out of elements in the digi kit
plus a color filled shape from the software for the trunk.
One of the ornaments is a photo of my cat
in our Christmas tree framed with a kit element.

Thanks for looking =)

KIT CONTENTS:
Each portion of the kit is on sale for $1
through December 7th, 2016

Blog Hop, DT Call, Prizes!

Welcome to the
House of Cards Blog Hop
and
 Design Team Call
with prizes !
PLUS
I'm giving away a copy of the new
My Memories Suite 8 software!

This month is an inspiration photo challenge:

As part of the design team,
I worked with a digital stamp set
and a digital paper set from
one of the hop sponsors,

I created three projects for you to show the versatility
of using digital stamps and print at home papers.

This first project used the digital papers
printed out onto white card stock then die cut
with a stocking die and assembled into a card.

A sentiment from the digital stamp set
was printed onto white card stock as well.

Below is the sheet I created with
the digital elements and
using My Memories Suite software.

I then cut each section apart
and ran them through the stocking die.

This next card uses the wreath image
from the digital stamp set,
but reduced in size to fit my card front.

I water colored the image with classic ink pads
and a water pen. I printed the bow portion out
a second time, trimmed, then adhered to the
wreath base image. Tiny bits of red glitter
were added to the berries on the wreath, too.

Above is a closeup to show detail.
I also cut smaller pieces of card stock,
adding sponging and doodling to create
the illusion of panels on a door.

Below is a sentiment from the set,
increased in size, and printed inside the card.
NOTE: many digital elements can not be increased in size
without losing their quality. I did a test print of the sentiment
and it didn't look bad ( there was a pop up in my program
telling me there could be a problem). It turned out
just fine inside my card.

The last project is a 100% digital project,
using My Memories Suite software.
It is a printable card front.
I did attempt to color the wreath image digitally, too.
It is meant to give you an idea that you can create
your own photo cards to either print at home
or send out to have done.

The digital kits I worked with from MHK Designs:

Yes, it is a gardening set,
but the bright colors worked with the
challenge inspiration photo ;)

Now for the info on entering to win a copy of the My Memories Suite 8 software, a $39.99 value:

Glittery Snowflake Ornament Card

What a glittery fun mess I made creating this card !

The front layered snowflake  piece is actually a removable ornament.

I'm not so sure I like having a craft room
upstairs by my bedroom now after the mess I made ;)
It was nice keeping glitter and such more or less contained
to the old basement craft room before !

Card details:
Lightly textured red card stock, unknown,
was run through a polka dots Texturz plate (SU!).
I ran Diamond Stickles along the edges,
but it didn't look right so I sprinkled on silver glitter.
Unfortunately the thin line of Stickles was drying quickly
so the silver glitter didn't adhere very well.

Snowflake die, glitter paper, sentiment stamp and Real Red ink,
Stampin' Up!

Circle Spellbinders dies.

Cuttlebug paper medallion die.

White card stock, light weight red paper.

Banner was hand cut and edged with Diamond Stickles.

Thin silver elastic cord scrap from my stash, unknown.
I die cut another snowflake from very thin cardboard
and glued it the the back of the glittery die cut snowflake,
sandwiching the ends of the silver cord between.

The cardinal in snow covered trees image is
actually a photograph that I took.

The finished card size is 5"x 5".

Thanks for looking =)

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:

EDITED TO ADD DECEMBER 7th, 2016:
My card was an honorable mention at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown

Thinking of You Fall Card

This lovely rubber stamp image was a gift
from a long time "pen pal".
It is #80251 When Autumn Comes
from Stamps Happen, Inc.

I stamped it twice,
once on the card front and
the second time on a scrap of card stock.

The base image on the card was colored
to resemble summer with green trees.
The trimmed second image was colored with
fall colors and mounted to the base
on a piece of cardboard cut to fit.

Thanks for looking =)
