January House Of Cards Challenge

Happy New Year !

Time for a new challenge at
use a building and/or
the color palette in the inspiration photo below.

I had the perfect stamp to use for this challenge
plus I used similar colors.

The finished card size is 5"x 7".

The image was stamped onto water color paper.

I lightly painted in portions of the image with
inks from a dye ink pad and water brush.

I also brushed some Pearlex paint onto the snow
and added Diamond Stickles to the trees.

The edges of the stamped panel were distressed.
This is layered onto Riding Hood Red card stock.
Smoky Slate card stock was run through a snowflake
embossing folder then layered between the stamped
panel and Crumb Cake card base.

I added some striped Riding Hood Ribbon
and snowflake dies with a rhinestone brad
to finish off the computer generated sentiment.
Lastly Diamond Stickles was run along the edges
of the sentiment strip which was attached with dimensionals.

Our challenge lasts all month,
so you have plenty of time to
create a card to share with us!

Christmas Cards I Received

Below are some home made
Christmas cards I received this year :)

The tag on this one is made from wood !
The word Merry is cut out with decorative paper
layered behind it.
So country cute!

This is a photograph that my friend
took then had printed and sent to me as a card.
The view is Mt Hood from Rocky Butte in Portland.
Pretty !

What a fun vintage image on this CAS card !

Vintage Christmas Tree Card

I created this card for a challenge a month ago -
and never posted it !

While coloring in the tree image,
I got an inky finger print on the card stock.
It was nearly done at this point, argh!
I was still able to use it by covering it up
with a paper punch button and tag ;)

Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas !

Santa and His Sleigh Card

Another fun to color in old rubber stamp image from my collection.
All images were from Stampin' Up!

It is a longer border image, so the finished card is 5x7.

Happy Christmas Eve !

Die Cuts and Quilling Angel Card

I originally made this angel as a gift card holder /
home decor piece for my Mom several years ago.
It had a pocket easel back where the gift card
was stored then it could stand up to be used as a decoration,
Since Mom has decided to downsize, getting rid of her holiday
decor (among other things), she gave this back to me.
I repurposed it into a Christmas card to give out this year.
It was a large card, mailed in a 5 x 7 envelope.

There are a few other ideas I shared on that post, too.

Thanks for looking =)

Simple Holly Christmas Card

I love the simple beauty of this card !

A panel of white card stock was run through
a holly embossing folder then mounted to a
white card base.

A hand cut banner was stamped with a sentiment
and red ink then edged with Diamond Stickles.
It's layered over a scrap of textured red card stock.

Thanks for looking =)

Ribbon Kitten Cards

What an adorable stamp image a friend gave me !
It was perfect to make cards with for two cat mom friends
as well as a card for each of my kids who adopted a cat
themselves the past year.
I'm a fur baby grandma now, ha ha !

The polka dot paper is from an old Die Cuts With A View stack.

The green cards with stitching were a set of
hand made, recycled paper cards I bought
on clearance at Target a few years ago.

The images were stamped on water color paper
then "painted" using inks from dye ink pads
and a water brush.

Thanks for looking =)

Ho Ho Ho Santa Cards

Using up some scraps, I created these simple, cute, mail friendly cards.

Papers were from an old Die Cuts With A View stack.

Stamp image is an oldie from Stampin' Up!
I normally use a dimensional paint on this stamp image,
giving texture to Santa's beard.

Thanks for looking =)
