642

Six hundred and forty two?

That is how many photos I had printed
and need to get into albums !!! 642!

Obviously I haven't printed photos for quite some time ;)
I also went a bit overboard documenting the historic flooding
we experienced last year.

Needless to say, I will be a bit busy working on this project
for a while. I also still need to finish older photo albums
as well as scrap road trips!

I may as well spend leap day getting started on this project :)
First things first, writing the dates on the backs of all of these
since Walgreen's doesn't print anything on the backs now.
Ack!
Enjoy your bonus day this year!

The year is March-ing right along, isn't ?

Framed Sympathy Card

Images, card stock, inks, embossing folders
and dies are all from Stampin' Up!

This card was inspired by a sample I came across
a while back and kept in the back of my mind.
Sorry, I do not know by who or where I saw it.
I do know that it did not use Stampin' Up! images
and had several fancier die cut details.
I knew I could make a similar card with the basic layout
and the supplies I have.

I of course had to make this project more difficult
for myself by cutting apart the frame then
reassembling it. I wanted the wood grain to
look like it would on a real frame. Had I left it
in one piece in the embossing folder, there would
have been short sections of plank on each side.
So I cut it apart at the corners diagonally then
placed the pieces vertically in the embossing folder
so they would each have wood grain running the
length of the piece. I reassembled them
by taping them together on the backside
then mounting it to a piece of fun foam I
cut into a frame to pop it up from the card base.

Coral Blossoms Thanks Card

image, card stocks, inks, embossing folder and "hardware" from Stampin' Up!

The stamped top portion was actually a small card from long, long ago
that I never used. I decided to add it to an embossed leaves background.

Butterfly Die Cuts Card

I saw this basic idea some time ago
and finally got around to making a similar version.
Mine isn't nearly as cute as I recall the original being.

I ended up with three cards since I cut the bottom butterflies
layer from three different colors of card stock.

It was tricky, but I do like the results.
