Buffalo Plaid Christmas Tree Card

I had a package of 6 really old
flat, die cut trees I totally forgot about.
I had them were stored in a weird spot,
so I hadn't come across them in a long time!
I decided that although I have plenty of
cards already made this year,
I would turn them into cards anyway
otherwise I may forget about them again ;)

They started out simpler, with no snowman
or greenery. Just the cute die cut tag and twine.
I liked them well enough that way, then decided
I'd like them better if I added something else.
I went through a few ideas before settling on
the much more time consuming snowman
and greenery spray idea.

I stamped the background with the Buffalo Plaid stamp by Stampin' Up!

The greeting, die cut tag, paper punch leaves are also from Stampin' Up!

Martha Stewart branch paper punch (pine looking shapes)
and snowman punch.

Baker's twine.

I'm thinking about adding an eyelet and twine loop at the top so
it could be hung since it is not a card that stands up. It is flat, there
is no fold/second layer to it.  Or maybe a piece of magnet glued to the
back so it can be displayed on a refrigerator?

I probably won't be posting as often now since I've made more than
enough cards.  Time to get started on scrapbooks again anyway.

Merry Christmas!

CAS Christmas

Everything used on this fairly quick to make card
was bought from Stampin' Up! over the years.

The holly images are from a set that is at least 20 years old
called Celebrate The Season.

Christmas is a partially stamped image from
a Christmas words set that is several years old.
I used Versamark ink and green embossing powder on a strip
of shimmery paper. It is attached with a piece of chipboard
behind it for a bit of dimension.

Merry was cut with a thinlits die.

Real Red, Glorious Green and Whisper White colors.

Charge It Pop In Page Kit

MDD Designs at Pickleberry Pop has a lovely new digital "quick page" kit - and you can alter it!

The premade page that you can simply pop a photo into and be done also includes elements that you can add if you'd like. You can also alter the premade page as I did in my sample. I removed a couple of elements and added in the laptop image to go with the photo I used. I also flipped the template. Quick and easy !

Note: the little banner I used for my date tag is not included in the kit.

Here is the link to the Pop In kit, Charge It PLUS it is on sale for Black Friday!

A Different Kind of Thanksgiving

It was for many people this year.

I cooked and had my Mom over.

After we ate, I boxed up leftovers and

we drove them to my children's homes.

We had a short visit with each, outdoors at one

and wearing masks, socially distancing indoors

at the other. Although not the perfect holiday,

I still thought it was nice.

The skies finally clearing as we drove, after days

of being over cast and rainy, made it even better.

Remember that even during a pandemic,

there is always something to be thankful for.

This year especially, there are many PEOPLE

to be thankful for. THANK YOU to

all of the people out there fighting the pandemic,

keeping goods in our stores, teaching our children,

keeping the peace during these trying times

and even to those that are doing their part

to help prevent the spread.

The list goes on. Thank You.

The image in my post was created to share with my family online.

70th Birthday Card - feminine

Surprise, something other than a Christmas Card!

I'm not happy with the way this one turned out.

I was in hurry to come up with something at the last second.

The basic idea is okay, could be tweaked, but the colors.....

not happy at all with them and the photo really makes them look ick.

I didn't have time to redo it, so this is what was sent.

I know, I know, we are our own worst critics!

Everything used came from Stampin'Up! at some time or other.

Thanks for looking =)

Snowman Coaster Bridge Card

Another "bridge card" made with a coaster.

The center image panel is actually a coaster.
I found a set of two at a yard sale
a couple of years. I bought them knowing
I'd do something crafty with them,
whether it was an ornament, scrapbook page
element, whatever. In the end I made cards.

Stamp images, inks and card stocks are from Stampin' Up!

Christmas Tree Coaster Bridge Card

This is a sort of a "bridge card" design.

The center image panel is actually a coaster.
I found a set of two at a yard sale
a couple of years. I bought them knowing
I'd do something crafty with them,
whether it was an ornament, scrapbook page
element, whatever. In the end I made cards.

I added a few mini rhinestone embellishments.

The side panels and top sentiment are stamped with gold ink.
The stamp images are from Stampin' Up!

Patterned Pines Christmas Card

All supplies used (other than the stars)
came from Stampin' Up! over the years.

I could've made a simpler version of this card
by simply stamping the pine images directly
to the white piece of card stock.
The stamp image is of the three trees in a row,
next to each other, not overlapping.
(Patterned Pines)

I decided it needed to be a bit fancier,
so I stamped the trees in different colors ,
even stamping the trunks again in brown.
I then cut them out individually
so I could glue them overlapping each other.

I added a die cut squiggly lines element
to represent snow drifts.

I lightly sponged blue ink onto the sky.

The sentiment stamp is colored with water based
markers directly onto the rubber to create the two tone image.
It is cut into a banner then glued onto to card
with a shim of chipboard for a bit of dimension.

The star elements are unknown.
I know that they were bought at a going
out of business sale (Kmart) years ago
and sold as a Christmas item for gift packaging.

A wood grain textured background
finishes off the card front.
