Poppies Card

"Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it."

– Unknown

Americans don’t typically wear poppies on November 11 (Veterans Day), which honors all living veterans. Instead, they wear the symbolic red flower on Memorial Day—the last Monday in May—to commemorate the sacrifice of so many men and women who have given their lives fighting for their country.

Colorful Anniversary Card

My Mom asked me to make an Anniversary card
for her to send to one of my Aunt and Uncles.
I made several for her to choose from.
This is the one she picked.
Luckily I had an "extra ounce" postage stamp
still so she didn't need to go to the post office.
This card is bumpy and would require the extra postage
since it is non machinable.

Most supplies used came from Stampin' Up!:
Lasting Elegance die (recently retired)
All Year Cheer stamp set (from 2000 or so)
white embossing powder and Versamark ink
Simply Pressed Clay rose element
card stocks

polka dot ribbon scrap, unknown

homemade alcohol ink sprays to create background,
pink and yellow

I'll share a couple more cards soon that I created
with scraps of card stock I used to soak up
the over spray from making this background.

There will be a couple more Anniversary cards, too.

Thanks for looking =)

I'm linking this card to

 It's been a while since I've
participated in a challenge,
here or anywhere really.

Retro Rubber was one of my favorites
since nearly all of my stamps are 10-20 years old!

Hang In There Card

The background on this card was an experiment:
I scraped three colors of acrylic craft paint
onto yellow card stock that I Pressure embossed.

The background was too deep and detailed,
the paint pooled up in it too much so I kept
scraping it out which blended it too much :(

Most supplies used were from Stampin' Up!:
Hanging Garden stamp set
Vine Street embossing folder
Tasteful Labels die
card stocks, inks, embossing powder

Tutorial here
https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/acrylicstencildeboss/
I'll try it again some day with a less detailed background

Thanks for looking =)

Graduation Flip Card

Rubber stamp images, inks, papers and flip card die are from Stampin' Up!,
Great Grads stamp set

Glitter ink pen (Office Depot brand) to color in the G

Numeral dies from Michael's/Recollections

I thought I had a few mortarboard stickers leftover from last year,
but I can't find them. I was going to put one over the "a" after
not stamping that part of the image. I have another week before
I need to send it, so maybe I'll come across them still.
Or maybe I'm mistaken and there are none left which is why
I am unable to find them?

Thanks for looking =)

Cap and Gown Grad Card

Rubber stamp, papers, inks from Stampin' Up!

Embroidery floss for tassel

Numeral dies from Michael's/Recollections

INSTRUCTIONS found here:

I altered it by cutting two squares of card stock then sandwiching a piece of lightweight chipboard between them to stiffen the cap.
