Halloween Card 4

Todays card was made with the old (1995) Stitched Witch stamp set
from Stampin' Up! The greeting is from the All Around Argyle (2006)
hostess set from Stampin' Up!

The mini flag paper punch was also from Stampin' Up!

The papers are from an old Die Cuts With A View paper stack.

Paper punch button, ribbon scrap, hand cut banner,
faux stitching to finish off the water colored image.

I have a few more Halloween cards to share the next few days.

Thanks for looking =)

I'm entering my card in the new challenge at Retro Rubber - Boo!
I don't have any "scary" rubber stamp images,
but plenty of old cutesie Halloween images.
This particular stamp is 22 years old ! Wow.......

Halloween Card 2

Simple enough to make Halloween card.

Sentiment from Stampin' Up! was heat embossed black.

I ran a stylus on a scoring board around the edge of the stamped panel
to create a raised edge.

Papers are from an old Die Cuts With A View paper stack,
punched with a small flag paper punch from Stampin' Up!

Repurposed Items Fall Decor

UPDATE 10/11/2017
I just discovered today that the
Making Memories blog is gone from the internet
as are anything else related to the blog owner!
There was no notice given to the design team.
No explanation whatsoever at this point.

For those that like entering crafty challenges,
there are many more to be found in blogland.
I happen to DT for another Anything Goes
craft challenge, Love To Craft Challenge
Please visit us soon !

The October challenge at
Making Memories Crafting
is to be inspired by the photo below:
Autumn/Halloween Anything Goes.

More details about my project:

I created my own png word art with a gradient
using Photoshop Elements 14 software
and the font Sprightly.

I repurposed several items for this project:
wood "frame" from the window in a door,
chipboard from craft project packaging,
"silk" leaves previously sewn onto a scarf,
scrap of wide wired fabric craft ribbon.

Supplies:
Woodgrain background stamp with Crumb Cake ink
Itty Bitty Splatters stamp with Soft Suede ink
Smoky Slate and Creamy Caramel ink pads for swiping
across the Very Vanilla card stock
Stem Silhouette stamp with Ruby Red ink

Scoring board, stylus, Smoky Slate marker
and ruler were used to create the faux planks.

Just a little dab of low melt hot glue
was used to keep the leaves in place.
I flipped the piece over once they were all
glued down then trimmed the excess off.

The frame was well weathered from being
part of an exterior door originally.
I decided to keep it as is since the
art piece is kind of weathered, messy looking.
I did paint along the exterior side edges since they
were not stained.

I had to staple the finished piece,
glued to lightweight chipboard first,
into the frame since there wasn't enough
depth to use points.

The bow was hot glued in place on the front
and I added a saw tooth hanger to the back.
I also finished the back off, after stapling
the piece in, by covering it with a piece of
paper to fit. Doing this hid all of the
unfinished wood edges and staples.

A closeup to try to show the debossed lines
and inky details.

Thanks for looking ;)

Rt 66 Festival Scrapbook Pages

A simple enough two page spread.

The paper is unknown, more from an old set I bought
at Big Lots years ago. The city streets background paper
was near perfect for these pages as the car show the photos
were taken at are held on downtown streets !

The "green" letters and numbers were cut with a Cricut Create
using the Library Font cartridge.

At first I didn't think I was going to have the right shade of "green"
to coordinate. I totally forgot about the never used color
Summer Starfruit by Stampin' Up! from years ago in my stash!
It was the perfect odd shade I needed
and looked even better with the Basic Gray shadows.

I also used Baja Breeze for mats under the photos.

Only one stamped portion on this page,
the word FESTIVAL.
It was made with Snap Stamps from about 2005.

A few home made faux screw head brads to finish it off.

Thanks for looking =)

Halloween Computer Screen Calendar

Todays' project that I am sharing with you
was created for the new challenge at
create a 100% digital project with the colors
black, orange, purple, green and/or a Halloween theme.

I designed a computer  screen desktop background.
It was made with the My Memories Suite V8 software
and a digi kit by JMC Designs, Bewitching Hour.

How to:
Create a "custom size" project in the software
and type in your computer screens resolution.
Mine is 1920x1800.

There is a neat calendar feature in the software
that makes it easy to add calendars
to your digital projects.
You can edit the calendars in various ways, too.

I added various elements and papers from the digital kit,
basically making a digital scrapbook page sized to fit
my computer screen - and with a calendar page on it !

If you like creating digital projects
(nothing handmade), we invite you to
play along with our challenge.
You have until November 3rd to enter
your family friendly Halloween themed project
at Digitally Made !

Fairy Lantern

Welcome !

Today as my design team project for
I'm sharing a project I've been wanting to make
for quite some time: a fairy lantern !

Read on for more information
about how I made this particular lantern.

SUPPLIES:
Wide mouth empty jar (mine was from a jar candle)
Fairy silhouette laser cuts by Creative Embellishments on Amazon
Mod Podge
Used dryer sheets (white tissue paper works)
Card stock, chipboard, paper doily, florals, ribbon, hot glue
Scissors
Wide paint brush
Glitter
Floral moss
Battery operated tea light candles, 2

The jar I used was a wide mouth jar that once held a candle.
I liked the really wide mouth on it and it was
smooth all around the outside.
A little bit of scrubbing and a final wipe down
with white vinegar to make sure it was good and clean,
and it was ready to "paint"on the Mod Podge.

While the glue was wet, I wrapped the jar with
used dryer sheets. I thought they might make a neat texture
and hoped they'd be transparent enough.
Plus, I like to repurpose items that might
otherwise be trash ;)

I brushed a little more Mod Podge on top
and sprinkled on some chunky glitter.

I have a feeling this may be a "dust collector", though ;)

There was no lid to this jar,
but I had an idea I wanted to try
anyway, no matter what jar I used.
I wanted to make an easy to lift off top
rather than a screw off lid.
It did take a bit of paper "engineering"
and work, but I do like the way it turned out.

Because I needed the top itself to be a bit wider
than the rim so once the side was attached it
would fit around the wider grooves from the
old screw on lid, I traced the outside edge of
a thin metal die that was the right size.
I then  cut it out with a pair of scissors.

The side was cut a bit wider than the width
of the ribbon so I could make tabs to glue
under the lid.

I used double stick tape to adhere the ribbon to the side.
The bow was hot glued in place.

I added a piece of chipboard inside the lid to make it
more sturdy since I was gluing on several items.

I made a strip of card stock as a divider between the
moss and battery operated tea lights.
DO NOT USE REAL TEA LIGHT CANDLES !!!!

Closeup of the goodies on top,
various supplies from my collected stash
and a doily. I also cut out and glued on a piece
of green card stock to the top of the white lid.
It looked too plain just white, especially once
I decided to add the doily. The green makes it pop.

I mailed this off to a long time "pen pal"
as a birthday surprise.
My daughter saw it before it went out
and asked me to make her one, too.
I happen to have 7 leftover fairy die cuts to put to use.....

Thanks for looking =)
