Assorted Christmas Tree Cards

This is the first post of many to share
the 100+ Christmas cards I made this year!
I have been working on them since August.

Some were made using up scraps,
others were new to me stamp sets that I made
multiple cards with. Some were ideas from
catalogs or other stampers, others are my own.
Most things used came from Stampin' Up!
nearly all of which is retired.
I'm not taking the time to write up all of
the details on them since there are so many
and I've been dealing with vertigo, sorry.

Thanks for looking =)

Thanksgiving Cards

Several cards created with an old
Paper Pumpkin shaker card kit by
Stampin' Up!

I made several different cards with the kit,
using papers from the beautiful Falloween
card stock stack by DCWV on some.

The top left and bottom right cards in the above photo
are the two shaker cards that were in the predesigned kit.

Alternative ideas with the kit -
and I still have pieces to use!

Pinwheel Cards

I did it, I made my first  "pinwheel"cards! I was inspired by the cute Halloween card I received from my long time email pal.

The card base itself is easy enough to make. What was time consuming for me was deciding what stamp images to use! I dug through my stamp and die sets, putting to use several of them from Stampin' Up! The inks and cards stocks were also from SU! A Cuttlebug folder (Happy Birthday) was used on the pink side panel pieces of the pink/brown card.

Instructions for a fancier version can be found here  https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/steppeduppinwheelcard/

Apparently they are quite popular to make right now so you are sure to find all sorts of inspiration and tutorials on the internet.

Butterfly Beauty Box Card

So glad I found this neat card idea online!
It wasn't too difficult to make
(other than die cutting and assembling the butterflies).
I made this for my mom's birthday.
Normally I don't make duplicate cards,
but because I had so many butterfly bits leftover,
I made a second and sent it to my hubby's
long time friend/second mom.

All supplies used came from Stampin' Up!

30th Birthday Box Card

Pop up box birthday card for a 30th birthday.
I used all sorts of stamp sets, dies, punches,
and so on to make this.
I didn't keep a list of all of the names, sorry.
It took HOURS to figure out
what to use and how to place them,
but my daughter's worth it :)

Here is the very first pop up box card I made
several years ago, with instructions

30th Birthday Decorations

A few things I made for a 30th birthday party
using supplies from Stampin' Up! mostly.
I used too many different stamps and dies,
not keeping track of their names, sorry.

The patterned papers were from the
Falloween paper stack, DCWV.
I love that paper stack!

Spinner Card - galaxy

This is a spinner card, the Earth rotates around the sun.
It was made for a 30th birthday,
inspired by the words on the party invite of
celebrating 30 rotations around the sun.

Below: pictures of the home made "galaxy" paper -
my second attempt!
The first try was used for a holiday card
that I'll share in December.
Below are a couple of photos
from the first background in progress
and a very basic how-to.

I randomly water colored assorted ink colors
onto watercolor paper, being careful not to overlap.
I used dye refills, Stampin' Up! brand, and an aquapainter.

I then brushed on Night of Navy ink refill,
watered down a bit.

It dried a lot lighter than when I first applied the
Night of Navy ink, so I added a little more.

I splattered white craft paint onto
it using an old toothbrush once it
was completely dry
(not shown in this photo).

It was very messy and didn't turn out
quite as I had hoped. It was my first try,
so maybe if I make a few more
(or use different supplies) they'll be better.
