Purple Poppies Sympathy

I hand't planned on making a new card so soon,
but life happens. Or in this case, death :(
Sadly, I had a need for yet another sympathy card.

This particular card was inspired in part by a sample
I saw some time ago in a Stampin' Up! catalog
and kept in the back of my mind.

Other than the doily being too "yellow" compared
to the Whisper White card stock, I like it.

All supplies used, other than the doily,
came from Stampin' Up! and are long retired.

The stamp set is Simply Sketched.
The image was water colored with inks
from my classic ink pads and an aquapainter.

There is a layer of shimmery paper behind the front panel,
it is difficult to see in the photos.

Yes, that is sunshine in the background
of the first photo!
We've not seen it for days again.
Sure makes this frigid, windy,
snow covered ground day seem warmer.
We started the day off with -12 wind chills!

Thanks for looking , have a great day =)

Fabric Scrappy Brooch

I had fun wasting time, playing around with some scraps and pieces
leftover from another project to create a fabric brooch the other day.
You won't be able to see that project until later in the year though ;)
I also used a fancy stitch on my sewing machine
for the very first time on the felt background piece!

Will I actually wear it ?
Probably not, I am not a jewelry wearer.

This is what happens when I don't close a box of fabric right away.....
the cat makes herself a new bed for catnapping.

I'll probably not be posting as much on the blog for a while.
I've worked months ahead on my design team projects
for Love To Craft  (always posted on the first of the month)
and have a decent enough stash of greeting cards made (I think!).
It's time (passed!) to start concentrating on my photo albums
and scrapbooks. I've so much to get completed still!
I will have some digi projects to share
for my creative team work with JMC Designs, though.
In fact, there are will be three kits released this month
that I have digi projects to share for.

Thanks for looking, have a great day =)

Bed Spring Hanging Bouquet Holder

This months design team project
that I made for the anything goes challenge at
is a simple floral piece.
I used an old bed spring as a sort of  hanging "vase"
or "tussie-mussie" !
We are a monthly anything crafty goes challenge
(so long as it is family friendly).
We'd love to see what you made this month !

The florals are actually a spray that my daughter
carried as a bridesmaid in a wedding.

She removed the succulent to use in
one of my empty Oui yogurt jars,
but didn't want to do anything with the rest
of the spray.  I kept it for a future project , some day.

When I went down to the basement to peruse
my floral supplies, I saw the box of old bed springs
and immediately thought to do this.
I'ts a bit more fun than simply tying a bow
onto the spray as I thought I might do.
My original idea was to cut it apart and
decorate an old horse shoe as a base.
After looking closer at it,  it is made of heavy duty wires and floral tape.
It was not going to be easy to tear apart.
So I kept it intact.

I stuffed "moss" into the bed spring,
shoved the spray in and attached a
bow I made from a strip I cut from burlap.
Simple!

I suggest that if you do something like this,
you seal the bed spring (rust)
and hot glue some felt to the back of it
so the metal spring won't damage your door.
Also, it has a mind of it's own when it comes to
hanging nicely. I had to wire it in place around
a metal over the door wreath hanger
and even then, it still moves too much
for an often used door.
This will be a temporary decoration for March.

Camaro Card

Hubby asked me to make a retirement card.
No problem. I was going to use my trusty Classic Convertibles
or Classic Pickups stamp set and the
They are having a challenge in conjunction with

He informed me the man has a 68 Camaro
and asked if I have a stamp of that type of car.
I have that cool new to me old Mustang stamp
and the old Chevys in that convertibles stamp set.
No Camaro.
Hmm......

A search online came up with a few options,
the best of which needed to be purchased  - for $99!
I then came across this little graphic,
but I have no idea where it originated. I kept being sent back
to weird websites and pinterest when trying to locate the original.
So unfortunately I can not credit the original artist for the graphic.

I had hoped Stampin' Up! would make a series of realistic classic car
rubber stamp images like the Classic Convertibles and Pickups sets.
 No such luck.

Anyway, moving on to the details of the card.

Stampin' Up! retired stamp sets used:
Happy Retirement, Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set (2009)
screw head, Nailed It stamp set (2017)

Darice Diamond Plate embossing folder

silver embossing powder

Memento black ink

Versamark ink

red Prismacolor colored pencil

glitter pens, Office Depot

hand cut banners

silver card stock, unknown

red, white, blue, black card stocks - Stampin' Up!

Silver glitter marker for the chrome
and touches of red over the colored pencil for shiny paint.

Doh! I forgot to add Crystal Effects to the headlights !
I maybe should have added screw heads to the corners
of the Camaro panel, too. It looks too bare to me now.

Silver heat embossed screw heads on the banners

18th Bday Digi Card

A simple printable card I created for a young mans 18th birthday.

To create the 18 shape,
I chose a large font, made it white, added a small stroke and drop shadow.

Lyrics were typed on a separate layer then attached to the 18.
This did take some tweaking to try to space the words
in a way to be a bit easier to read.

Thanks for looking, have a great day!

Not the best photo taken on a cloudy day,
zoomed way in on the camera through 100+ year old wavy
glass windows: a huge woodpecker hard at work
looking for lunch in the old maple tree.

Deepest Sympathies Card

Sadly we had an unexpected death in our family recently.
I had no sympathy cards on hand.
I put the new to me gorgeous embossing folder to use,
making two cards to send out to family members.
I'll share the other tomorrow.

This card has silver paint on the raised areas.

The sentiments are digital images and text, printed.

Silver metallic , black textured and white card stocks

Paper punches, Stampin' Up!

Satin edged organdy ribbon, unkown

Peach Roses Card

I used colors (various shades of peach)
that I rarely touch on today's card!

I'll add a sentiment to the front and inside
when I'm ready to send this card.
I'm leaving it blank for now since it can be used for
several occasions, when needed.

All images, inks and card stocks were
from Stampin' Up!

CAS White Botanicals Embossed Card

This is a card I made to have on hand -
minus the sentiment tag.
I'll add the words I want to use when the time
comes for whatever I decide to use it for.
Wedding ? Sympathy ?

Thanks for looking, have a great day =)

Edited to Add :
I turned it into a wedding card
