Trick or Treat

Well it was certainly a trick Mother Nature played on us this Halloween:
we saw our first snow of the season !
Barely even a dusting, but it was still snow.
We are also setting a new low high temperature for this date,
remaining in the thirties all day. Factor in the wind
and it is in the twenties! Too soon to be this cold here!
The weather forecaster got everything else correct
for the day, I'm just waiting to see the skies clear as
was predicted. We are still socked in under heavy
cloud cover so it doesn't look likely.

Halloween Home Card

This card uses the Holiday Home stamp and dies set
from Stampin' Up!

The house is colored with inks from my classic ink pads
from Stampin' Up! using an aqua painter.
It is attached to the tag with dimensionals.

Trees, bats and sentiment are heat embossed black.

Purple twine came from Target.

Patterned papers are from Die Cuts With A View.

The sky was made with Distress Oxide ink.
I dabbed Violet ink onto black card stock
and spritzed it with water. Heat set then dabbed
on a wee bit more ink.
It looks a bit like my foot currently does:
I broke a toe the other day and am
waiting to see a specialist on Monday
for a determination if it will require surgery.
Fingers crossed oh so tightly it does not!
I've had so many bad things happen this year,
I don't need that, too. Just dealing with a broken
toe alone the next month or so will be tough enough,
I don't want to add recovery from surgery, too. Ugh.

Side Step Halloween Card

A fun side step card made easily using a card die
by Sizzix to create the step base.

The ghost, pumpkins and leaves were
stamped and die cut with the Fall Fest
set by Stampin ' Up!
Some are attached with dimensionals.

Hand cut banner, stamped with a sentiment
from Stampin' Up!

Boo patterned paper is from Die Cuts With A View.

Orange grosgrain ribbon.

Thanks for looking =)

Edited to Add;
WOW!
I was so honored that this card was chosen
by someone at Splitcoaststampers
as one of her favorites of 2019!

Cat Silhouette Card

Playing with a cat silhouette die and
Distress Oxide ink (my second try)
to create this Halloween card.

I dabbed a wee bit of Violet ink onto black card stock,
spritzed it with water. Dabbed a bit more on top.

The "stars" are made by splattering white craft paint
with a toothbrush onto the card stock.

The moon is a piece of copy weight paper punched out
with a circle punch. I sponged a teeny bit of grey ink onto it.
White craft ink was sponged onto the background around
the circle punch to create the moon glow.

Papers and stamp image were from Stampin' Up!

Cat die, unknown.

Circle dies, Spellbinders.

Simple Jack O'Lantern Card

Another simple Halloween card, this one uses an old stamp image
from Stampin' Up!. Maybe I should have heat embossed it in black?

It is layered over a piece of decorative paper from
Die Cuts With A View backed by green paper,
also by DCWV.

The postage edge punch (that I used unsuccessfully)
is from Stampin' Up!

The image is attached with dimensionals.

Googlie Eye Ghost Halloween Card

No more sympathy card posts!
It's time to share the Halloween cards
I made earlier this month.

This is the first, a really simple one.

I die cut a ghost from the Fall Fest die set
by Stampin' Up! then added googlie eyes
and a simple hand cut banner.

It's mounted to textured black card stock
with dimensionals.

Quick and easy !!!!

Happy Purrthday

Enough sympathy card posts for now.
It's time to move on to sharing the half dozen cards
I made over the weekend of World Card Making Day/Digital Scrapbook Day !

I'll start with this adorable swing card with cute partying cat images.

I found this stamp set with matching dies at a yard sale recently.
New, never used, until now when I made this card !
It is by Lawn Fawn and called Meow You Doin'.

I also used a Flip It card die from Sizzix

The images are stamped on water color paper
then colored with ink from my dye ink pads
using an aqua painter.

They are die cut then popped up on dimensionals.

All inks and papers were from Stampin' Up!

The stitched circle die is from The Stamps of Life.

Bonus Project:
a coordinating "candle holder cake topper"!

Topper stuck in a slice of home made New York style cheesecake
I made for the birthday girl.

I didn't really want to poke 28 candles into the
top of the pretty cheesecake, so I made this single
candle holder/topper for her slice.
This also tells me when looking back at the photos
in the future that it was her 28th birthday
and
it kept germs from being spread to the rest of the cake
as she blew out the single candle on her slice ;)

If you are interested, here is the recipe I used.
It turned out beautifully and was delicious.

Monochrome Sympathy Card

This is the second card I made for the current challenge at

I was in need of more Sympathy cards,
so I chose to use the center row going down on
their tic tac toe board:
sympathy, embossing folder, monochrome.
It could also be one of the diagonals:
floral, embossing folder, die cut or punch.

Supplies from Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Elements of Style (2010)
                 Close As A Memory (2006)
Basic Black and Sahara Sand card stocks
Memento black ink
Subtle 3D embossing folder
black organdy ribbon 5/8"
dimensionals
stitched rectangles die (Stamps of Life)

This shows the texture I created on the front
using the embossing folder by Stampin' Up!
I stamped the Toile image first.

The sentiment is attached to the card front
with dimensionals.

This is the inside of the card.
