Rainy weekend here due to remnants of hurricane Gordon.
The temperatures fell, too, so it was nice to have the window open
while I worked on scrapbook pages. I'll share them at some point.
I've lots of other projects already completed to share first.
So many in fact, I have a post every day this month !

Thanks for looking =)

Plum Peonies Card

Card made to have on hand, left blank for the time being.
All supplies used were from Stampin' Up!
Pretty Peonies stamp set

I've decided to join the current decade of how to listen to music:
streaming ! This is a huge step for me as we've not had decent internet
(fast and lots of data allotment) where we live, it's too rural.
We don't even get cell phone service here.
We decided to give satellite internet a try, so far it has worked well, hooray!

My daughter still had her Samsung Galaxy S3 phone she upgraged from
quite sometime ago, so she sold it to me.
I do not have a smart cell phone, I don't use cell phones.
We figured out that the cool retro radio my mother bought for my new
craft room a couple of years ago works as speakers for the cell phone !
I can stream the music through the phone plugged into the stereo and
using the WiFi from the satellite internet. I use a piece of petrified wood
I got while on our big road trip out West as a prop
to hold the phone upright against the stereo. Pretty neat -
and no annoying commercials to endure while crafting!

Thnx - Mustang CARd feminine

This is the thank you card I made for my friend that recently
gifted me this neat 1966 Mustang fastback stamp, die
and diamond plate embossing folder with chrome card stock.
Thanks so much again, Margy.

The stamped and die cut Mustang image
was colored with Prismacolor pencils.
Crystal Effects was applied to the "glass" areas.

The shiny pink circular piece
was cut from the bubble wrap envelope
that I received the goodies in :)

The chrome card stock and diamond plate embossing folder
were used to create one of the strips behind the panel.
Black textured card stock was used for the other.

"thx" is from a swing card die set from Stampin' Up!
and cut from textured black card stock.

So when the '66 fastback that my husband recently bought gets
to the point that it's ready for paint,
I wonder if he'd consider spraying it pink ?!? Ha !
Paint is a loooooooooooooooooong way off though.

not a lot of coloring, but it is kind of crazy
seeing a pink colored Mustang ;)

Tulle and Burlap Sunflower Wreath

September 1st,
Summer is winding down.
I am looking forward to the cool
and colorful fall days to come:)

Kids are going back to school, too,
maybe that means more time for you to be crafty!
Unless of course you work for a school and
are going back to work yourself ;)
No matter, we have a month long
anything crafty goes challenge at
plenty of time for you to create something
to show us !

Using yellow tulle, burlap, and an old metal
embroidery hoop from a grab bag of craft supplies I bought
at a church fundraiser yard sale earlier this year,
plus some paper crafting supplies of my own,
I created a sunflower wreath.

Just cut strips of tulle and loop them in half,
placing the loops on one side of the embroidery hoop
and the tails on the other. Bring the tails up and over
the hoop then run them through the tulle loop.
Pull snugly to hold it in place on the hoop.
I added hot glue to make sure mine didn't come undone,
the tulle seemed to want to loosen itself up.
Trim the ends as needed to your liking.

Wrap burlap over batting and thick cardboard
cut to fit the inside of the embroidery hoop.
Hot glue the edges in place to the back of the cardboard.
Push the wrapped cardboard piece into the hoop and hot glue
in place. Hot glue a piece of tulle to the back to hang the wreath.
Twine, ribbon or wire would work as a hanger, too.

Decorate the front as you wish.
I die cut letters and a word.
A hand stamped a bumble bee onto card stock, trimming it out with scissors.
I added yellow with a marker and glittered the wings.
They are all hot glued in place.
I was going to hot glue buttons on the burlap before adding the die cuts,
but I didn't have enough brown buttons to cover it to my liking.

This is a simple technique to make a wreath
(even ornaments!)
and has so many possibilites.

Thanks for looking
and
Happy Almost Fall !

Although there is only one stamp image on my project,
it is an oldie (18 years old to be exact.
Watercolor Garden from Stampin' Up!)
so I'm entering my project in the current
Anything Goes challenge at Retro Rubber.
I've not played along with this challenge for a while,
not that I have a lack of old stamps to use.
I think the majority of my stamps are nearing the two decade mark,
if not already there ;)

Also, because there is a bumble bee on my project,
I'm entering my wreath into the current
Quit Bugging Me Challenge at Shopping Our Stash
(another challenge I've not played along with in too long)
