Rustic Rose Card for Mom

Today's card is based on a fun layout I've seen done similarly,
perhaps it was a sketch challenge somewhere in the past.
I just recall the basic idea and kept it "on file"
in the back of my mind to use one day ;)

All stamp images are oldies from Stampin' Up!
DD Cottage Rose (1999)
Woodgrain (2009)
Itty Bitty Backgrounds (1997)

inks, card stocks and linen thread were also from SU!

strip of patterned paper, an old Die Cuts With A View paper stack
(scrap saved from another project because it would be wasteful to throw it away,
decent enough sized to use for something someday!)

tiny yellow rhinestones

really old paper doily from my crafting supplies stash

I'm entering my card in the following challenges:

Whenever I enter the Retro Rubber Challenge and look up
the age of my stamps, two things come to mind:
1) time really does fly, it doesn't seem like I've had the stamps that long....
2) does anyone else keep all of the stamps they've collected over the years?!

(putting an old paper doily to use,
actually everything on the card I've had for several years -
time flies!)

Thanks for looking :)

  1. I love this card! The layers really make it pop!

  2. Such a pretty floral card! I love your flowers and the doily as the anchor for the flowers is perfect! Thank you for playing with us at Retro Rubber and hope you will join us again soon.

  3. Haha - I think I keep mine but I certainly haven't been stamping as long as you have, so mine only go back about 4 years! What a lovely creation this is. The neutral, textured-look base really lets all those pinks show off in the card. Thanks for joining us again at Retro Rubber Challenge.

  4. Ohh!! what a beautiful card, I love all the layers and textures, the beautiful tiny yellow flowers look super sweet around your lovely rose.
Thank you for playing at RETRO RUBBER, hope you play again next time.

  5. Lovely card. love the layering and the textures :) Thank you for joining the Mood Board challenge over at Use Your Stuff
