Faux Mercury Glass Mini Jar Christmas Decor

A second mini piece of Christmas home decor
repurposing a Oui yogurt jar !

I used:
~ a store bought floral pick
($3.50 at our local Big Lots;
the only silver one they had and
perfect for the faux mercury glass jar ).

~ a  fabric doily I had in my stash

~ a piece of foam glued into the bottom to hold the pick

~ Krylon Looking Glass paint
and a vinegar/water spritz to
create the faux mercury glass  look on the jar.
The paint is quite thin,
you need to lightly spray it in several layers.
Be sure to paint in  a well ventilated area and wear plastic gloves.

NOTE: You must paint on the INSIDE of the glass
and the containers are NOT food/water safe.
They can only be used for decoration.

This one didn't turn out very "vintage-y".
It was too cold outside to be spray painting
and I will not spray paint indoors.
It is pretty and shiny, mirror like,
just not old looking.

TIP:
Change out the floral pick with the seasons
to reuse the faux mercury glass jar base year round !
I planned on making one with a bird nest for Spring,
but the nest and birds I have in stock are not the right size.

I have some other paints I want to use on
additional jars and additional ideas of things to do with them.
I need to buy and eat more  Oui yogurt first !
Then patiently wait for a warm enough day to go outside to spray paint.....

Thanks for looking =)
